I think my favorite feature of Microsoft Outlook is that if you click on a link in an email once, nothing happens. If you click twice, nothing happens. But if you click a third time, the link is opened up three times in three separate tabs.

Sunday running chronicles: a cool 16 miles. It’s Father’s Day, and I’m thinking about how and how it’s so strange that I understand my father more now thanks to not much more than the passage of time. Anyway, here’s a funny squirrel I saw.

Amazing episode. The Police never really resonated with me, but I always liked this song. Such a pleasure to hear it taken apart and put back together again.

So many people complain every day about the NYT and then keep their subscription. If it's necessary for your job I guess I get it, but to me it's maybe a half step from paying Elon for a check.

There are certain days when I realize that I am much closer to becoming that insufferable brand of cranky older attending than I would like to admit

God. Things go so badly when small men are humiliated. We are really in for it.

Just got back from the Penn State Health Internal Medicine residency graduation, and holy smokes is that a great group. Smart, humanistic, hard-working, and funny. Honored to have played even a small role in their education.

this is perfection

Democracy dies in darkness, but also here's some straight-up propaganda

the story today is of a profoundly low energy military parade being met with millions of americans in nationwide protests denouncing the dictatorial pretensions of the president

Philly, I almost miss you sometimes

Button fly jeans are a great choice if you’re the type of person who wishes they could spend a lot more time in the bathroom

“This is the ruler we love” is probably not quite the right sentiment to be putting out there today

I know it's been said but I keep getting re-infuriated about RFK Jr doing his thing, like we had this vaccines thing *settled*, they rule and they were working and all we had to do was NOT put the worst possible person in charge of the country's public health apparatus.

Tearing up at the Top Chef finale, and mostly it’s because it’s good

One of my colleagues described herself as an “empathic introvert” and then turned to me and fist-bumped me and it is really nice to be understood.

This is close to the right response. What happened to Padilla is scary and horrific, but I must admit I was a little icked out by the “doing to a SENATOR crosses the line!” rhetoric. Like, they should have been this mad when it was auto mechanics and students and farmers.

Just a quick note that telling a patient they “just need to stop drinking” is not actually a meaningful intervention

this image of the FBI at the orders of the state to arrest an elected politician for just asking the DHS secretary a question needs to be spread for the next 4 years when talking about the fascism of this administration

Haven’t crowdsourced on here in a bit. Anyone have any papers or sources they like looking at health consequences of electronic cigarettes?

Pretty evening

Stunning that we have gotten to the point where we will need to ignore ACIP recommendations because they will lack any credibility

When I finally shuffle off this mortal coil and am laid beneath the soft and welcoming earth, please let my tombstone simply read: Paul Nelson Williams, MD 1975-20** Please advise.

Another academic year on the books

Empty posturing for the Republican allies he will doubtlessly caucus with once he announces he’s running as an independent. If the Dems don’t primary someone against this lumbering apostate, they will prove they stand for nothing. www.the-independent.com/news/world/a...

For decades, Sec. Kennedy has spread lies about vaccines. Now, his misinformation will lead to preventable illness & death. Firing independent experts is a dangerous move that makes it harder for Americans to access vaccines that are safe, effective & essential to saving lives.

Fun reminder that he wants us all to die www.reuters.com/business/hea...

Thrilled that this mandated Windows update on my work laptop has rendered my task bar unusable. Hopefully the next update will take out the mouse:

Good haul

Sunday running chronicles: A decent 12 miles, finished right before it started raining in earnest. No deep thoughts, but I was wondering if the chipmunks would treat me differently if they knew how much I love them. Pretty sure this isn’t a metaphor for anything.

All we want is healthcare.
