Project started by the previous government with 2 of the 3 contracts already completed by July 2024.

Today is the anniversary of British MP Jo Cox murder by a right wing nut case stirred up by Nigel Farage and his hate filled rhetoric. 9 years in and the right wing extremists are only more emboldened.

Of course he does. He’ll have a GoFundMe set up for his “defense fund” raising thousands, then pleading guilty and pocketing the cash. He’s got villas to buy.

Imagine spending the sort of money Musk has spent on plastic surgery, and still looking like that.

The thing is previously you were saying the trajectory is bad,but you’ve acknowledged that we need migration.I think the point is this is a hugely complex issue, but certain people with loud voices are trying to stir up fear and hate, which helps none of us normal folks.

She’s probably hiding amongst the bins out the back of BoJos house.

Looks like the sort of guy with an all access pass to Jezebels, and priority queue access.

The whole old age dependancy ratio/too heavy age profile is just one aspect of all this. And there’s dozens more. Take foreign students coming here, and the revenue they generate. Make this a hostile country, and that dries up.
comment in response to post
That’s a colossal shift in the old age dependancy ratio. There’s now far fewer tax paying age people for every OAP. The only way to rebalance that is with a sudden influx of young, healthy, tax paying, net contributors. We can’t breed them into existence very quickly.

Is it?How do you know?Forgetting the provisional figures show a fairly hefty fall. How can you or I say what is a suitable trajectory? This is a hugely complex issue, with many variables. There are no simple answers or platitudes. We have an explosion of baby boomers reaching 61-79 years.

Some interesting stats here www.gov.uk/government/p... Projected pop: 60.3M by 2045. People living longer, with the over 85s to double by 2045.

Did you know that more of the UK land mass is covered at high tide than is actually built on?It’s less than 2% of the land is built on www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-4190... have an aging population, dependant on care. We have 200k vacancies in the care industry.Without migration our economy will collapse.
comment in response to post
What’s your point? Are you under the impression that these figures are the “illegals” you’re afraid of? Those people account for around 20k a year. What you will find is that historic ally EU migrants were the majority, not now thanks to Brexit non EU migrants are the majority.

And just like that, DOGE had their next target.

Are you ok mate? You seem very angry and upset.

Unless you’re checking passports and birth certificates, you have no idea who anyone is. Just because someone has dark skin, doesn’t mean they an immigrant. I see plenty of white scruffs/scroats around Newcastle etc shouting, spitting, drunk and disorderly.

What a horrific way to talk to someone who has been nothing but civil.

I live in the north of England, on the border of Gateshead and Durham, where we have had our pants pulled down and ravaged by the Tories. This is not an issue unique to Leicester mate. We’ve all been spanked by the Torys, and austerity.
comment in response to post
Aye, I keep having this delusion that people can be reasoned with.
comment in response to post
Btw,I am not defending our current immigration situation. The Torys yet again underfunded that system, and built up a 5 year backlog.it should never have got this far.but Torys were happy to use fear of immigrants to deflect from their cruel policies and concentrating wealth with their rich friends.
comment in response to post
Tell me, are you aware of the massive gulf between us lot and the rich? Are you aware that over the last 15-20 years that gulf has become huge?Where do you think the rich get all their wealth from? How do you think they get richer, whilst we struggle and are relatively poorer than we were 20 years ago?
comment in response to post
So you think your home town has gone down the drain, not due to 15 years of Tory cuts, banking crash,COVID,tax incentives for Amazon etc but not high street shops, but due to refugees? Those people in hotels are asylum seekers, who then through asylum become refugees. They haven’t destroyed your town

It’s worth getting some facts right. 250-300 protesters at a WWII VE Day commemoration. Someone hurled a smoke bomb on stage. 5 people arrested. So by that account, 245-295 protesters weren’t arrested, and allowed their right to free speech.

Trump know fine well that James Bond was locked up in Alcatraz and escaped. Bond later helped Nicolas Cage infiltrate the island to take down some suckers and losers US military who were threatening a biological weapon attack on US soil.

Ah mate, you’re throwing away yours and your children’s rights, hard won rights, because you don’t like refugees. You’re spouting right wing poison. I hope you see the light before it’s too late. Nige doesn’t care about you. He’s elite, multimillionaire on the side of big business.

So Guardian post his full quote, without any effort to balance it or point out that he is factually wrong? Of course.

Watch this space. I bet Trump announces this as a win, and make out he’s achieved some great new deal from EU, despite this only being a pause of retaliation tariffs due to his stupid tariff policy.

And we all know Nigel is happy for us to be consuming chlorine washed chicken and hormone pumped beef, throwing away our higher food safety standards, and decimating our British farmers in the process. Yet the farmers vote Reform in their herds.
comment in response to post
Does Nigel forget that Trump signed a “magnificent deal, a big beautiful deal” with Canada and Mexico in his first term, which has recently tore up as “the worst deal in history”. Nothing sticks with Trump. He’s a petulant child, who throws his toys out the pram constantly. No deal is safe.

4.2% of the way through this term. If you forget about the mitigated disaster the last 2 months have been, 4.2% progress through the term to hit this huge security disaster is incredibly poor going.

Which Party was it who got all worked up about a fake child trafficking ring based out of pizza shop basement… without a basement. Yet here we have Trump Admin actively involved in child trafficking.

Come on people, Trump is just looking for living space for his people. Or Lebensraum, as Musk calls it.

I’m wondering when Trump is going to start wearing a military uniform.
