This + I'm pretty sure you can just move a mouse faster, especially superlights
And probably some ergonomic benefits. I cannot play splatoon with good posture as I rest my forearms/wrists on my lap for support.

I feel that we already have most of the infrastructure in place, and the ability to have the to manpower to do so given all the damn tourneys, but we just need to strive for more. Strive to make the system that Nintendo could never.

So. What if we had like 4 levels of low ink tier events every month(beginner, low level, midlevel, high/toplevel). What if we had full long term team elo ranking. What if we had streamlined & anonymous scrim/ranked team matchmaking. And what if all of these things were intertwined?

I think the major itself is a great idea, but team points only really mattering to the top teams alongside the 3-month time frame of it all makes it hard for any teams below high level to see any benefit. This defeats the ability for it to be a fully encompassing team ranking system.

Sendouq came along and tried to give us a real, fair ranking system to help with getting good matches, easier seeding, and a goal major to push for, but it felt like it stopped getting beneficial changes past like season 2 and just fed the plus obsession problem from the start

But once that ended, it just became harder to be motivated past pushing for a few weekly wins or +3 ( until you realize it's dead + even more dead after sq ran it's course )
everyone just wanted results for the hope of higher level consistent practice

Like in my experience Low ink felt like THE SHIT at the time. Everyone had their teams for months on end, trying to move up the brackets or get their win. Scrims occurred consistently because you actually got a sense of what teams are out there around your level and they stuck together.

That begs the question, what do teams actually want?
Consistently good matches; the thrill of winning a tight set and getting into the flow state with your team. Higher stakes, more attention on the tourney, prize pools. How do we facilitate good matches? Matching up teams of similar skill...

Too many tournaments isn't necessarily a bad thing until you have so little teams that it just becomes a matter of what badge you want that day instead of asking, 'what tourney will give us the best matches?'. I'd bet it's more the lack of teams/ motivation to get better at the heart of the issue.

Not same map, but I like to stay in the same mode for 2 or more games before rotating so you can actually try out any changes needed right away instead of waiting for another 3 matches and forgetting.
