A different thread for a change. Wanted to expand on this. Many in the West misinterpret karma because they view it through a lens shaped by Christian values. "An eye for an eye", "you reap what you sow" may seem to align with karma but in fact, nothing could be more in opposition.

My favouritest Indian takeaway in the UK has been forced to close because it smelt of curry 😭 They made this delicious dish (punjabi tinda) made with a particular vegetable, the indian round gourd, no other curry house makes and which I used to specifically travel there for 🙁 I am heartbroken.

Give them the opportunity and refugees will not only succeed, they will contribute to and serve this country at home and abroad

positive impact of migration 🧵

I often hear right wingers argue against skilled migration saying we shouldn't be "stealing" nurses from developing countries. This sudden feigned empathy with poor countries is exactly as it sounds: completely absurd. The money migrants remit helps poor countries far more than aid or loans.

My god I cannot cope with transport infrastructure announcements that do not include full details of the exact route plan. I have so much work to do and I've already lost an hour to searching for local government PDFs and Google Mapping the exact alignments. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

YESSSS!!!! Finally Labour doing some Labour things!! Stop chasing Reform and more, much more of this please!

Nigel Farage is to give up his £73,000 EU pension! Sorry - my mistake - he just wants to stop other people having a decent pension.

If it wasn't about people risking their lives and providing the motivation for far right politics in the UK, it would be utterly hilarious that the government admits the only damn thing that actually impacts literally any of it's flagship policy outcomes is... er... the weather.

It took me 5 minutes to add up the numbers to get to £43 billion. Blows my mind that no media has done the same yet and they're still running with partial headlines. I put this down to general innumeracy among political reporters.

I summed up the cost of Starmer's plans: £15 billion for an expanded nuclear warhead programme £24 billion for nuclear submarines (12 nuclear subs, each about £2b each) £1.5 billion for new weapons factories £2.5 billion for other items That's £43 billion in total.

Only in Britain could we shut down the third busiest DLR station, used by over 7 million people a year, for a full year just to add four escalators. And I bet it took five years of planning to get here. We are just beyond parody.

Telegraph's front page story is based on idiotic and/or deliberately malicious analysis. ONLY £12bn out of annual £90b UC goes to households with foreign-born residents, so the real story is that "foreigners" are 25% LESS LIKELY to claim universal credit than British-born British citizens.

Here's the thing. Taxing extreme wealth should be a secondary safety net. The primary catch should be to ensure the rich aren't able to exploit the system to increase their wealth at such extraordinary rates.

Enjpy my latest video where I reject the notion that leftists should feel guilty about Britain's colonial past. More awareness, yes. More guilt? No.
