Thanks; I might try doing some work from the chaise longue, but I mostly need to have my two screens in front of me.

Format switching apparently precludes intense, beginning-to-end encounters with texts. Then, the author states “There’s something both diffuse and concentrated about reading now; it involves a lot of random words flowing across a screen”, and I wish the NYer got experts to write about reading.
