I used to believe a lot of irrational things, but I’ve been trying to cut down.

I love beer, but this is (sadly) consistent with the findings of the long running EPIC study epic.iarc.fr

The weight savings, especially for Copilot, must be amazing.

Working on that. It's so hard to keep them away from spoilers, though! Little leakers are running around in every pre-school in the nation.

Psyched for the prequel that they’re gonna make with Veo 7 in a couple of years.

There’s a huge investment opportunity here for the billionaire class. NIH grantees turn into patent factories. Pick your favorite researchers and negotiate for 20% of the proceeds from any resulting innovation. It’s like Carnegie library program if Carnegie also got ridiculous royalties.

Wish he shared where he bought these parts and found the time.

Young dementia prevalence data is from here: jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...

While people in their 70s can do good work, age limits should be based on the prevalence of dementia in a given cohort: 60-64 = 0.08% 65-69 = 3% 70-74 = 4% 75-79 = 9% 80-84 = 18% etc. We recognize 65 as retirement age for Medicare and SSA, why not Federal office? jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...

It also has the potential to nerf the power law phenomenon (10% of people getting 90% of matches) that results from people choosing on their own.

I bet it’s because of cell phones. Our friends ended up having a kid on a highway on-ramp. Dad caught the baby and then called 911 to pick up Mom and baby. They did not, I am sad to say, name the boy Carson.

This is *exactly* the problem with the idea that AI will be smarter than a physician in X years. Many clinical tests (especially blood tests) are inferential. People lie to doctors all the time. You think AI is ready for domestic abuse or drug seekers? It's not.

Taxing unrealized capital gains would be difficult and complex. But taxing all borrowing over $X/yr would be super easy. Exempt up to $Y for the purchase of a primary home and you’re done.

This was straight up loss aversion on Schumer's part. He was worried about losing what is left when he should have been fighting for what has been lost.

Relative to the Earth’s size it’s just not that big a request, tbh

Yeah, some people repost way more than they post. (looks at his own timeline) Oh no.

If you were a parody and not actually Taylor Swift, I’d observe that respect is not humorless. I might go on to note the joke is not her but on all the people who think incorrectly that she’s an airhead. And I’d conclude by asking, does Weird Al respect the artists he parodies?

It was a valid, albeit ambitious, goal back in ‘16 before the ketamine (+etc.) took hold. Unfortunately, instead, we have now learned that there *is* something more irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge.
