I think this is true for overall architecture and coding styles. Per language/framework is a different story. Many people use MCP servers that provide the latest documentation. That means it gets progressively more important to keep docs up to date and include best practices with examples inside.

I changed my mind. I don't really like the first one because if the event handler is long I'll have to scroll for far to spot what comes after the event handler. It's not very transparent because of it.

It's hard to say. I personally like the first one because it would make my existing code easier to refactor. The third one aligns with the function signature for Watchers in Vue. Not a huge fan of the second one because I don't like unbounded arguments, but I'd be fine with either one of them :)

Congratulations! 🎉 Looking forward to the future of Nuxt!

Announcement on stream? :D

That works because it’s a watcher. I meant computed refs don’t trigger/update when a deep dependency changes, like a nested property, unless they are specifically referenced inside the function (and thus registered for watching).
comment in response to post
Today I learned: computed and defineModel() don’t support deep watching and the word “stultification”. Good day, thanks! ☺️

H3 v2 release and now this? Hmmmm 🙄
comment in response to post
Are these really your words though? You're usually more soulful...
comment in response to post
Awesome! Is this something that Nitro also needed to move closer to a v3 release? In any case, thank you and other contributors for making the best server side stack possible!

It makes sense, I've tried the Roe extension myself in the past. Wait... Could have been Roo.

It just needs notification support for going live specifically, else it won't be THAT useful.
comment in response to post
Great! Just need optional notification support to make it really useful.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but this sounds like the perfect $3.99 app. Probably not what you were intending but just wanted to throw it out there because it still sounds fair and it’s a really, really clever idea in my opinion 😉

Sounds like a fun stream project! 😇 Either way it actually sounds fun and much less niche than you would assume I think.

That'll be a change of weather ☀️ 🥵

Missed it, but great release! 🎉

As a citizen of a country where it is mandatory and a person with a teacher education , I can say not enough 😉

There is no browser to rule them all, a huge hole in the market that I thought Arc would continue to fill. I'm still using Arc and still happy with it (especially the command pallette and the dynamic Git Repo PR folder), but it already doesn't meet your mobile app requirement. And not ultra-minimal.

Have a great conference all of you there! Couldn't make it this year but I'm watching live. To those hosting talks, good luck and enjoy it!

You're right, reading your comment again I think I misunderstood what you were saying. The curse of low character count on such platforms || my reading comprehension. Take your pick 😅

Surely there’s a gradient here? If I had to live by that standard I’d have nowhere to buy my groceries and no package delivery services to bring me my board games. But yes, when it comes to community projects, there are egregious ones that you should think twice about supporting or being part of.

When someone says "it's about politics", they fall for the trap that's been set by the politicians of today's world. It's no longer politicizing but weaponizing. Turning warped values into weapons to imprison "followers" in socially constructed prisons. Today these prisons are called "party lines".

Hehe, staying in Belgium overnight for tomorrow's BEL Vue meetup? I had to cancel my RSVP because of a hospital appointment that opened up. Unfortunate, but I hope it will be a great event for you and the attendees!

This demonstrates the robustness of legacy Nuxt 2 sites. Or is it a generated static site? I didn't know you still did consulting like that. How do you even manage to fit that into your schedule? Impressive! PS. for a second before opening the page I thought you ran a poetry site 😅

On top of the ability to learn I would like to add the discipline to practice what you learn. In other words, not just reading/watching tutorials about a topic but actually converting that to another kind of memory (the practical) for maximum retention.
comment in response to post
Just reading the news these days pretty much gives you an unequivocal answer straight away 😱

I agree with @thealexlichter.com on this. Only places I use it now are for very large response data from external APIs that ends up in a ref somewhere. It’s just less overhead to only think of one way to handle reactivity (on top of choosing between ref and reactive).

Aww missed it! Good thing there’s a VOD 😉 will you be uploading it to YouTube too? Hope to catch the stream next time!

Thanks for the video! I personally try to avoid this pattern because it isn't transparent and can quickly get out of hand. I prefer creating multiple variants that wrap a base component instead. Nice to see how making a component generic enabled Typescript from working correctly!
comment in response to post
I bet this includes deleting code. Nothing feels as good as that!
comment in response to post
For me it’s the opposite. When I return to components it’s usually to fix a code bug, which means 90% of the time I’m looking for the script tag.

Perhaps a setting for which VSCode to open? Right now any code editor open action in the devtools loads regular VSCode instead of Insiders.

I am happy to see another macbook user have that dreaded keyboard ghost image on the screen. Why is it I only see macbooks have this problem? It drives me mad. Every time I clean mine and close it after, I'm left with a feeling of dread. Will my hard work be in vain? Shrödinger's keys are waiting...

Nice write up! I definitely wouldn't mind seeing you migrate your packages to this system. If I can comment on one thing: I think it will be easier to convince people to bump major versions more often rather than to adopt an extra "invisible" number. As you wrote, it's about human perception.
comment in response to post
I can tell you one thing: it won’t get better if the good ones give up on it. And you’re definitely, definitely one of the good ones. 😉

Happy new year!!

You always find new ways to send positive vibes into the world. It’s quite remarkable and appreciated! With every tap on the keyboard you’ve managed to brighten someone’s day with this thread 🙂

This was really well done! The cadence, intonation and reading speed are spot on for a children's tale like this. 👏

Is it because you don't feel good about the Bluesky experience or because it's hard to break a habit? If you have nothing against Twitter (a personal choice!), then there's nobody to force you to switch or post to both. But if you made your account here for a specific reason, remind yourself of it!

Better safe than sorry!

You are absolutely correct on that point!

It’s the first one. I’ve been looking into it again since your previous message and there does seem to be consensus that it shouldn’t be the version on a first watch. I watched the original many times and the edit only once, but I really enjoyed it. Perhaps you’re right that Lynch wouldn’t though.
comment in response to post
He explicitly released the scenes separately, called The Missing Pieces. Those are all the deleted scenes, but just pasted together without editing them into the movie. That’s what the fan edits do. So you’re right that he might not have wanted a directors cut, but he did want those scenes watched.
comment in response to post
But in this case it was Lynch having to compromise on the movie length due to studio pressure. Sure, the edit is fan made, but the footage is Lynch shot and some of it is relevant for The Return. For me the fan cut is the definitive version and I like to think Lynch would at least partially agree.

This is indeed where people hang out! Welcome 🙂
