I don’t think the admin would target the players, but their families already have trouble with visas.

And I think people underestimate how much the admin could target them. So many of the players and their families are here on visas (which the admin has shown they will cancel as retaliation). And border patrol could set up check points outside the stadium and they could not stop it.

The Dodgers announced yesterday (in response to plenty of criticism on their silence) they would explain plans to help immigrant communities today, so the timing seems to be intentional intimidation.

And Graterol and Pages both when many years without seeing their parents. That is nuts.

When I watched the Clubhouse I was shocked at how long Bello was waiting for his wife and kid to get Visa’s. That story is a commentary on our immigration process without saying anything political.

MLB should do a doc special on the immigrant players and what life is like for them, including the difficulties they have in seeing their families. I don’t think most Americans have any true understanding of what the visa process is like. And telling it through sports would get an audience.

3. The budget reconciliation bill is full on union-busting, cutting federal workers' pay if they keep their union rights, taxing their union dues, charging them hundreds in fines to appeal unlawful actions... it's bad, and it's a blueprint for union-busting everywhere. bsky.app/profile/aflc...

2. The budget reconciliation bill bans states from passing or enforcing laws regulating AI for the next decade. Happy birthday, big tech. 32 unions and counting, from machinists and hospitality workers to actors and pro athletes have now urged the Senate to remove this.
