Phew... svg animations are still a pain for me to do manually, thanks claude for handling the blurring

spending some time to make the landing page a bit more fun for ping.tinytown.studio

I ended up having to reduce the sponsorship amounts for 2 reasons and I'm not happy about it but I couldn't help it. 1. Server costs of things I run is getting over the monthly "fun" budget 2. I had to choose between keeping my apps running and helping oss and I couldn't choose

one search for a reference budget system and now my youtube feed wants me to learn how to get rich

i want to really just delete adex and write it again as a tiny engine that handles just enough without the monkey patching I have in it right now and there's the other part of me that doesn't want to break things that already work

Thanks for having me, Madrid! 🇪🇸 Here’s a link to my slides from today’s talk on Powering Multi-Tenant Applications with @nuxt.com at @madvue.es bit.ly/madvue-2025 #madvue

Pretty close to getting in shape for personal use while being able to self host it. It's not an alternative to QuickBooks or the likes but instead a simple way for me to manage the house expenses without involving our personal expenses

Loose focus for one second and I have an off by one timestamp issue

Now that I work with a company that works on github, those contribution numbers are no longer going to represent just OSS work.... 😅

sad cause I didn't know something like this existed solarprotocol.net

Turns on iPhone 7 after a few months, sees a security update that was pushed on 31st March 2025. and then there's devs (including me) who irk at the thought of making a backward compatible update...

i’ve not forgotten oss work, just been busy with life and would like to move back a little, think about things and then get back at maintaining things again.

@mikker.dev's mikkelmalmberg.com added on minweb.site

reminder to eat vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce (hot)

Tiny life update. After a year of working with the amazing people at @nearform.com , I've decided to continue my journey as a developer with turbot.com

🚀 The @clack/prompts v1 alpha is now out! Now ESM-only, with new prompts like autocomplete, progress, and taskLog. More customization options. Tons of i18n + UX upgrades. Share feedback at bomb.sh/chat. npm i @clack/prompts@alpha

spent the weekend migrating photos to a self hosted solution, blog post coming soon…

Probably the most straightforward app I ever built and something I still use github.com/barelyhuman/...

me every time i see a new programming language github.com/refaktor/rye

Impressive stuff, and probably better aligned as a solution that helps both the user and the maintainer really well. this is for a, i’ll probably extend the documentation manually with more details deepwiki.com/barelyhuman/...

3 months in and i’m not a Fan of the large (now considered mini) 6.1 inch iphones niche problem since i use it one handed and have to deal with a paining pinky finger or a cramped up ring finger. pop socket is the solution for now. though i’m reconsidering just importing an iphone mini

SO: Sounds likes a plan but doesn't that need a team? Me: yeah, about that....

Um.. anyone else getting spam follows at an uncontrollable rate

I sat down to add a few more examples to the book that I had noted down a while back. What I ended up doing was add the previous and next chapters to the footer nav github.com/barelyhuman/...

… that’s actually a cool result

The book is now available to read on the website, the gumroad page is just if you like the book and wish to support barelyreaper.gumroad.com/l/surviving-...

Moving slow has its own downsides but the product being stable is more important and both goblin and ping have solidified that mentality for me.

AI is making me lazy and not in a good way. There’s been cases where I just decided to believe whatever was added without reviewing it will have to reduce my usage even though all i was using it for was generating unit tests

anyone aware of a good multi select and search web component that can be used with the native form data helpers? use case is simple, searchpahe.fly.dev is completely server rendered html and based on the form api, would be nice to have a multi select without adding any more bulk to the page.

Slowly being built for personal usage A tiny UI for self hosted apps to use with caddy while minimizing the effort required to setup domains and reverse proxies

For devs who use puppeteer and other scraping tools, @render.com seems to be able to handle a fair bit on the 512MB instance. Dummy Repo github.com/barelyhuman/...
