The Zenbook 14 OLED is one of the models I'm looking at! I was also looking at the Zenbook S14. It seems nicely thin and light with a wonderful screen. How are the speakers for you?

The only other portable device out with the Max+ 395 is the HP ZBook Ultra 14 inch G1a. But this laptop is wildly overpriced and apparently performance is worse than the Z13 according to reviewers. The 128GB RAM model costs over $4k and a comparable MacBook Pro is faster with better specs.

There's nothing really out there like M4 chip with its high performance on battery and powerful iGPU. The closest is the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 chip that's used in the Asus Flow Z13. But I tried this device and the tablet form factor with its wobbly keyboard and awkward kickstand made it a bad laptop.

Not sure what's going on with Asahi Linux. Their subreddit recently deleted all the posts (?): www.reddit.com/r/AsahiLinux. I would like to try and use it but the 60hz max refresh rate on a 120hz screen is a blocker for me. I think the right solution is selling the Mac for a PC laptop.

BTW the performance delta is only if you an Nvidia graphics card. Unfortunately most people, including me, are stuck with one and we have to wait for Nvidia's driver team to improve Linux performance.
If you have an AMD card the DX12 gaming performance on Linux is equivalent to Windows.
