We're celebrating three huge milestones in Kentucky: ✅the highest number of people working; ✅most jobs filled; and ✅the largest labor force since the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics started recording these metrics. Folks, we've got a lot to be proud of.

First job interview today. Went well. Still trying to navigate these changes.

I present Ms Callie Bear Carroll 🥰

I had one life and now I don't. Starting over at this late stage is difficult but not impossible. Recreating self.

Got to appreciate Libraries and the Guardians of Information, the Librarians!! www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Right now we could all use some smiles, and I'm thankful we saw a bunch of them today.

"On Tyranny" is a #1 NYT bestseller again. I wish the moment were different. But I’m glad the book is useful. And grateful for all the kind words about putting the 20 lessons to work. snyder.substack.com/p/twenty-les...

I'm thankful to be outside today even though it's only 50. Sun is shining. Trying to find hope in everything ❤️

I empty out my office today. I've been in the library world for thirty years (minus 6 when working retail). Bringing all that stuff home for me to stare at 😭

Today I am resigning as executive director from my library. Over the last eight years that library has been a physical part of me. It's like I have lost an arm or a leg or a part of my brain. It was not healthy for the work balance to over take the life balance and this is the end result.

When something you thought always made you happy is found to be the stone around your neck. Loosening the rope....

How to kill a librarian's spirit in ten days.....new book idea

There is nothing more special than a house tour from two sisters who just opened the door to their new home after losing everything in the 2021 tornadoes. And the best thing is, they were more excited for their sisters' room than their own. Our kids always show us the way.

Tonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back. This was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008. Also bigger than the 2024 DNC. And the largest ever rally in Bernie’s career (and obviously, mine too).

Rough time right now. Job is on the line. Trying to stay hopeful 🥹

Women don’t wait for change, we make it. We’ve broken barriers, made history, and fought for justice every step of the way. Today, we honor the women who came before us and keep pushing for those who will come after. The fight isn’t over. Let’s get to work.

Heartbroken every day 💔🥹

Remember how in War of the Worlds the aliens died after they were infected with germs like the common cold. Yeah.....I'm waiting on that.

Snow day for the snow dog ❤️

When Congressman John Lewis was a child, he tried to get a library card. He was turned away & told “The Library is not for coloureds” 💔 He’s a civil rights icon, lover of books, recipient of the National Book Award for Young People’s Literature. “The Library IS for Everyone” 💚 #BlackHistoryMonth

For all federal employees: Before you are locked out of your systems, ensure you have copies of unclassified performance appraisals, awards & other relevant personnel docs. If you have access to your office, grab your more important personal items sooner rather than later.

Had to put this sweet ole girl to sleep today. 17 years old. I think one thing I'm grieving is that she was so much a part of the kids'lives and growing up. Empty house get emptier 🥹

Getting a library card is punk as fuck and free!

I fear there is deep truth here.

8 years ago I said goodbye to my Mom. Sat beside her while she took her last breath. Comes back in waves of grief....

Excited to announce I will be the executive director at my library starting December 1st!!!!

My local librarian was my first trusted human. I learned to read at a young age. The library was my magical special place. I was invincible there.

Are there any Chicago-area journalists who care about the ongoing of local libraries? As in, would actually cover stories about local libraries? I need someone who can shoulder some of what hits my plate, and more, who will amplify the things I can and do cover. Illinois is not without issues.

💜🦉🌲 Sweet Babys I love them. Owls are so beautiful ㅤ

Anti-book ban legislation has been proposed in Michigan. I had a chance to look at the proposals from the state library association months ago and they're GOOD. Michigan may join several other states in being an anti-book ban leader soon. www.wnem.com/2024/11/13/m...
