I just got through the chapter in Point Towers in Vancouver BC in the book, A Paradise of Small House by Max Podemski

Exactly! Moved from Buckman/Kerns/Sunnyside to Mt Scott/Arleta for that exact reason. Only considered places that have a mainstreet and library nearby/<5 min bike ride.

It's Infrastructure Week except with nukes and the Middle East. 🌮🌮

Councilor Ryan is going to be the new complainer-in-chief taking the reins from Rene and Comm. Meieran. Pols who can't count and no one likes so they can't get any polices passed. So all they have is complaining.

Clearly you need to meet antihistamine's friend glucocorticoid steroid! The only way I survived living in Eugene. Flonase and Allegra!

The stress is for real and I'm in a stable government union job! I can't imagine how folks that don't have that privilege are able to do it!

Elevenmile is surrounded by gravel mines and industrial land. Not sure that would pencil.

And the problem isn't the MAX, it is the little fiefdom of the railroad companies and their unwillingness to change or be told what to do!

@aortarail.org don't you have this info too of mind all the time?

From my understanding the approximation is Walmart coming into a small town. Monopolies destroy local economy and sends dollars out of town.

I personally think that the neighborhood association should take over (this is what their purpose should be). Have the business pay into a fund to keep it careless. I go back and forth on taking a public space and privatizing it for business or cars.

Home rule charters. Although we don't regulate federal activities on federal land. They have NEPA to worry about!

Don't forget in Oregon most of it is zoned Commercial Forest Use so you don't have a lot of options to do much with it outside of harvest timber.

🤫 don't jinx it!

I agree. Although while I can't speak of Star, I know the owner of River Pig has had a history of non-compliance when they were in Eugene and owned Taylor's next to campus. So maybe that played into the decision of going for the extreme option.

Still dreaming of CalTrains type "bullet" from Portland to Salem or Eugene. SF to Palo Alto which is about the same distance as Portland to Salem would be 35 minutes on electric train 🚅💨💨🍃🍃

Fond memories of Rubinators and Cajun tots of my college years...

This sums it up perfect how they keep their machine going!

I would argue that some of the residents got exactly what they wanted.

It'll be interesting to see how many Premier League and Championship connected teams will bring their womens teams to fully professional.

As I 🦆 alumni, I agree this is the way.

Wouldn't the Gorge Commission also be partly to blame. They are only starting to roll out their defensible space guidelines.

That is a big assumption!

This locally and DNC nationally. All this double talk is 🤮. Play by the rules except when we don't get our way...

Feel like the expectation is Americans and English only know one language.

John, Tim, Sara, and the rest of the staff are really top notch. Unfortunate to lose a member of an already small team.

As a kid (c/o 2003 at Franklin) I always assumed that the number of black students at Grant was higher than it should be with Jeff kids opting out to go to a comprehensive HS. It has always been over enrolled even back then.

Don't forget County budget tomorrow!
comment in response to post
I believe Grant HS is over enrolled quite a bit because of families opting to go there instead of Jefferson.

Clearly they never learned that you move that to personal sms or signal

Can I sit in? Did Councilor Zimmerman cut all of urban forestry like he wanted?

Gotta learn. Business phone vs personal phone...

Add you voice... trimet.org/82nd/lanedes... But in reality TriMet won't reduce vehicle capacity. They didn't on Division. Won't on 82nd. They are very much status quo planners.

Just think how much of this is just going to fund already promised committments. 🤔🤦🏻 We could do great things but instead we do the status quo.

Yup. Ditto until I moved out of the Sunnyside neighborhood. It's called a Foldable Shopping Cart. Fashionable used by all the Asian aunties and uncles!

In my office if it takes less than a de minimus amount of time we just pull the digital record, but any query really depends. Like all permits would be easy. A specific type of permit would be harder.
comment in response to post
That is so frustrating since it such an easy report using modern HR technology. That is like a fifteenth minute query. Pull all employee mailing into csv, remove all home addresses and personal identification info, send csv w/ city data only.

One day, my dream is to bicycle from Hualien to Taitung 🚴‍♀️

For sure. As more high quality office space opens up at more attractive prices we'll get movement. Just like how Jordan Ramis PC moved from LO to PacWest.

But doesn't mean we shouldn't call PBAs bluff.

I feel like there is a small sector of medium sized professional services business (lawyers, planning/engineering consultants) moving to Kruse Way from dt PDX. So that is a real thing.
