Bad news guy, being mean to cybertruck owners is no longer a federal crime.

On top of the usual insanity of "actually exploding the tenth test flight was a good thing" you at least want the rocket to clear the pad so you don't also have to deal with rebuilding there!

Ate a whole box of Little Debbie's swiss cake rolls.

I traveled frequently for my first job out of college, I had (and still have) a PSP I'd load up with movies or TV shows to watch on the plane! I would rent physical DVDs from Netflix, rip them to the computer, then reduce the resolution to match the PSP screen and save memory stick space.

We've had an XPedition for a couple years now, it's been great for replacing car trips!

I saw this earlier today and had the exact same reaction; impressed that the wheels stayed on!

World's most valuable car company and they can't work on two models at once.

As an American I really want to try this, I just can't imagine it's that hard. They sure seem to work though!

I don't know for sure but I'm reading it as Tesla is buying it back because it's going to be too expensive for them to fix whatever is wrong with it.
comment in response to post
Theres no way I'd buy a new car if I felt like I needed to check this much stuff on it. I've got a $1400 ebike and the experience is completely the opposite, they'll fix any issue that comes up in the first year.

I'll be sad if they don't replace it, his reaction when he got it back and it's significantly worse would have been fun.

A while back I discovered that my wife thought the little ball and strike counter they've got was actually telling them if it was a ball or strike.

I've got a small milling machine in my garage, I will be willing to supply any aluminum parts up to 6" x 6" x 10". I know that's not enough for a fuselage but I'd imagine I can make landing gear right?

There's a couple posts here that suggest it was the moderator getting mad and shutting it down, not sure how informed these replies are though. You do have to wonder though how much it'd cost to get an unpaid moderator to shut down their subreddit.

Someone at Tesla was like "hey can we get the guy from Cumbor's amazon page to photoshop an image for us?"

I can't believe "the Minecraft one" didn't sell. It's bad out there.

Optimus: What do you mean I'm not helping? Interviewer: I mean you're not helping. You're just doing some stupid little dance and reciting the fine print that says Full Self Driving is not self driving and the driver must be ready to take control at any time.

The very first issue requires them to take a file to the bodywork of a brand new car. How do you not walk away right there.
comment in response to post
Yeah it will. In a sane world Tesla would not be allowed to sell 'FSD' as it currently functions.

Did these guys somehow think their truck was going to increase in value? I guess I don't follow resale values that closely but does anybody buy any new $120k car expecting to get more than $90k when they sell it? Imagine someone being surprised that their Maserati Quattroporte was a bad investment.

Even inside the US, I think most people who travel to NYC probably take public transit once they get there, rather than renting a car.

I'm starting to think his claim that he could have been really good at chess he just didn't want to aren't true.

Seriously every one of these posts they're like "with my WIFE in the car too by the way". I've assumed they're mostly lying, but maybe they are taking a cue from Elon and bringing their family with them everywhere as human shields.
comment in response to post
Well that's a good strategy to keep protesters away.

What a train wreck. I assumed that the reason all these panels are glued on is that, being completely flat and unpainted, any welding is going to be very visible. So far this seems to be the case on these new parts!

If you showed up to kidnap a person you'd never think to check if they already loaded themselves up in the trunk. This is such a dumb strategy it just might work.

These guys are close to me, their website says they only do EVs but the photos look like they only do Teslas. I'd guess Teslas are nice because you know the owners are used to pretty shoddy quality and bad customer service, even if you are just ok they're going to love you.
comment in response to post
If that doesn't sell Teslas I don't know what will!

I'm for sure having nightmares about these guys tonight.

...and actually the 4' x 7' trailer I rented ended up being a little snug, probably should have done the 5' x 8' I've previously used. Good that I wasn't trying to use a full size crew cab pickup though, would have been too small!

I just yesterday had a bunch of empty crates and other stuff to dispose of, nothing a subcompact can't handle!

As soon as this guy spoke I thought I remembered him from an old video getting trolled while selling real estate in Second Life. I'm less sure now relistening, but selling land in second life is the type of thing I'd expect Cybertruck owners to have done in the past.

Seriously, guy who according to his bio owns over $200k in redundant cars can't imagine someone putting a couple hundred dollars towards an altruistic cause.

Disconnecting from the internet to print is already annoying enough, if that doesn't work then I have to either reboot the printer, or sometimes the computer. I had to get a remote power outlet thing so we could cycle the printer's power from downstairs.
comment in response to post
We got an HP printer, I'm not sure how I decided it was the one to get. Physically it prints fine but the software is a train wreck. At most maybe 25% of the time it'll function normally, about 50% of the time I have to disconnect from the Internet and connect to the printer hot spot.

Some on the Tesla forums are starting to wonder as well!

It is funny how opposite of an exoskeleton this is. On a normal car the external surface above the side windows is a welded part of the chassis, on the Cybertruck you've got at least two layers of junk before you get to the actual structure.
comment in response to post
I had previously questioned how they'd fix a glued on panel, googling more it looks like the panel is the outer stainless piece bonded to a frame which bolts to the chassis. So it is a part that can be replaced fairly easily, the stainless part isn't just bonded to the frame.

This is how Honda works right, whole company has a bad quarter every time a single model has a mid cycle refresh?
comment in response to post
I had almost added "unless they break out that drill and rivet kit from the gas pedals" when I said that's going to be a tough issue to fix on delivered trucks!
comment in response to post
You kinda only get one shot at gluing a panel on, if that is the issue. I can't imagine having an automotive service tech having to rework those.

I think hitting enter five times between sentences is a strategy to filter out reasonable people so he only gets positive replies. The stranded astronauts can see this post is nonsense from low earth orbit.
comment in response to post
It's pretty wild to openly say they welcome people who are ok with Nazi salutes. You'd think between typing that and hitting send you'd stop and like reflect on what you're doing, or at the very least realize you should just leave it at different political views!

Man imagine an actual backfire popping in the distance, Elon diving behind his four year old for cover.
comment in response to post
I like that they all need to make it really clear it's not the fascism or antisemitism, it's just the profits.
comment in response to post
I fully support Tesla trying out the Democratic party strategy of antagonizing your base and appealing to independents and Republicans.

I still remember the time a guy gave me the finger in 2014. I can't imagine having this happen once per day!
