Ok nice, I've only read two of those, I can add to my reading list. Thank you! I'll recommend Shardik by Richard Adams and Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay, if you haven't read those.

Ok but seriously, do you have any recs for standalone fantasy novels? I really can't commit to read 3-12 800+ page monstrosities.

Sign me up, coach! I'm an indie/freelance ttrpg writer/designer.

Almost every experienced gm is going to use their own preferred house rules for a lot of those niche circumstances, so writing a bunch of specific systems is often a waste.

This is a really important thing for people to understand, for any type of freelance work! Aside from your actual craft, communication is the most important skill to have.

Big Jeremy Piven energy in that emoji.

Always important to fill the well. Although sometimes the well just gets too damn full, and I couldn't force myself to take a break if my life depended on it.

If you want to destroy the Empire—ohhooowoowohh

I try to avoid rug-pulling, so betrayals are well telegraphed. A sinister laugh, holes in the backstory, obvious ulterior motives, that kind of thing. This gives them the chance to avoid the betrayal, but there's still room for interesting consequences.

Yes to both! I have a tiny mirror in my shower.

My parents swapped out their winter tires in MARCH this year. Unhinged.

Then again, I consistently had 6-8 players, so my options would have been quite limited.

I feel this struggle. I ran drop-in games at a local board game cafe for a few years, and they insisted it be exclusively 5e. I would have loved to do an indie game at least once per month or something.

Misinformation is a strong word. I *literally* just put an asterisk on a silly comment, intending to lightheartedly suggest not everyone can simply eat a grape. This isn't twitter, we don't have to blow everything out of proportion.

T2, yes. I've learned that some foods are better to restrict to cut down on carb and sugar cravings. For me, and for a lot of others who struggle with similar cravings, it's best to avoid them. I'm not saying avoid all fruit, but grapes are like crack. Too sugary. Not to mention expensive!

I'm glad to hear that works for you! I avoid them because I rely on high-fibre foods for digestion, and those usually account for my carb intake. But every diabetic is different. I think a lot of folks don't realize grapes can spike their BG, so it's important to be mindful.

I love me some d12 tables, but my heart lies with the d7.

They are the worst, especially because the first two episodes are so good! But I don't think this release schedule is helping.
comment in response to post
This release schedule is actually stressing me out. I *just* got caught up on last week's episodes yesterday. Now I have to find time to squeeze in 3 more!? I mean, I love the show and I want more of it, but not like this.

The only question Albertans need to be asking is "loyal to whom?" What does that word even mean in this context?

That's why I'm pushing to connect with creators in Canada. As much as I love what's coming out of the indie communities in Europe and the US, those borders are getting tougher to circumvent.

Find and encourage and promote others who are doing stuff that interests you. Hopefully, they'll reciprocate, and you can form a relationship, and maybe one day make a baby together!

I met my creative partner through our gaming group. He was already making stuff, and we talked enough about our ideas that he just asked me if I wanted to partner up on a project. I think that was a bit of a lucky break. The more realistic alternative is networking.

We're approaching our first stretch goal, which means something VERY different depending on which of the above I'm referring to.

I might be in the minority, but I've definitely grown to prefer a weekly release schedule for television. I like being able to think about and anticipate the next episode. This 3/week thing really annoys me.

We could definitely use more ai-filtering tools. I wonder if there's a chrome extension...

Rawpixel lets you filter out AI content!

This is a great idea! A lot of folks just need a little guidance and encouragement to get past a few entry barriers. It can be intimidating!

In Stargazer Keep, PCs roll randomly to be given a vision from the cosmos while they sleep. We could just whip up a random table that tells you what you dream. But what if we gave you a bunch of tables, you roll a bunch of dice, and then you all get to narrate the dream?
