Late to this but it's still going: has anyone mentioned balance sheets? If liabilities promise anything not provided by the assets then someone is on the hook for that promise. Bank supervisors and rating agencies provide assurance in other settings, who's doing crypto risk management?

Theology, law? Even in physics it was said that science progressed from funeral to funeral, as defenders of old theories passed away. Now that experiments cannot adjudicate between competing physical theories, progress even there has ground to a halt.

Ik ben wiskundige en werk in pensioen en ken het verhaal dat JdW in 1671 een betoog hield over de waardering van lijrenten..maar ik ken de details niet. Ken je dit verhaal, komt het terug in je boek?
