Today is a good day to reevaluate where you get your news from. How did your news sources describe Trump’s pathetic parade? How did they describe the protests? Did they lie about the crowd sizes? Or did they tell the truth? These moments can be really clarifying.

So some idea of the breadth of #NoKings, within my immediate family 10 people in 6 different states participated in some action (that I know of). My fam has always been fairly progressive but most of them have not been politically active up to now. This is what a people's uprising looks like.

🤣 you talking about how this kid, who isn’t even shaving yet, in charge of counterterrorism, doesn’t make you feel SAFE…🧐

I really really needed to see that people hadn't given up and accepted this shit as inevitable, or (even worse) embraced it. And today showed us that beautifully. No one wanted in on his tank show, but people WERE HUNGRY to tell him to go fuck himself.

Analyst on MPR asked about whether political violence is a problem now, and talks about partisanship. No. The problem is an enormous and growing community of far right radicals, mostly online. They are encouraged by Trump and his cronies, and actively celebrate violence, without consequence.

‼️‼️

A reminder to reporters, when historians look back on this moment with the president throwing himself a military parade and the people throwing No Kings rallies across America, the media sources raving about the former and sneering at the latter are going to be quoted by name. This is your legacy!

Greenberg: We're looking to the leaders who will fight for us, because even today there are folks among the Democratic Party who think we should roll over and play dead. Anyone seeing John Fetterman here today?

Philly #NoKings. I know we were rocking Philly style when the "F*ck Trump, Go Birds" chant started. Hey, politics is one thing, but we won the freaking Superbowl.

Anyone who isn’t making the connection between this and the trump’s masked men on the streets should check their pulse. Trump CREATED THIS. And he did it purposefully. This was the goal… chaos… lawlessness… fear… control. The nation MUST rise against it.

Anybody unsure about standing in the rain today, just a reminder of hat the U.S.'s last great fight against fascism.

If you can't attend the rallies today for whatever reasons, something useful you can do is scour your local news outlets for coverage and share the coverage on social media and pump it out to all of your networks. Amplify what's happening locally so others in your communities are aware.

Up to 96% of undocumented immigrants have jobs. Trump is realizing that deporting millions of workers would crush the economy, so we’re back to “undocumented immigrants are good if companies can exploit them as cheap labor.”

Trump demonizes ordinary immigrants as MS-13 gang members - in reality he is funding the guy who is protecting MS-13 leaders

It's ok to be wrong. Holding on to bullshit just so you don't have to admit that to yourself is unhealthy. It's especially OK to change your mind about political views you held when there is evidence to contradict what you thought. Trump is in fact a fascist. You can say so.

Shameful.

Prepped for #NoKings last night by watching "The Mexican Suitcase," a doc about 3 legendary photographers who covered the Spanish Civil War, the first great fight against fascism. Highly recommend the film. A piece of history most Americans have forgotten but it carries huge lessons for us today.

Workers are "terrified" as immigration agents sweep farms, the president of United Farm Workers says, adding that Americans should think about the "human loss" as well as "crops rotting" in the fields.

My mother, who does not attend protests, is going to a No Kings event in her area. She's an older woman with debilitating health problems, so this is a big outing for her. For the people acting like these events might be scary, my 67-year-old mom with arthritis and COPD is attending. You'll be fine.

I don’t really have words to explain how it feels to see Kristi Noem standing on a street in East LA that looks like the street I grew up on in East LA with an invading military force trying to kidnap people who look like the neighbors I grew up with. It stays with you, spiritually.

Actually did little protest go-bag with mask, first aid kit, goggles etc. Normally I wouldn't worry, have marched in Philly dozens of times with no drama (the city's been handling protest for 300 years) but with all the feds descending, this definitely doesn't feel normal. #NoKings

If you’re undocumented, don’t march tomorrow. Stay home. Let the rest of us get this one. Solidarity ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼
