The heroes we can all aspire to be

Alternative to fine:

Watched the TNG episode last night with the comedy Space Irish… It’s all better after that, right? (Did enjoy the Worf/Pulaski scenes, admittedly. Also, I’m struck how often old Trek was able to do low key/low stakes episodes just by dint of having long seasons. I miss long seasons)

Yesterday, my 5yr old nephew was telling me all about Dinosaurs as he had just been to an exhibition about them. I was surrounded by Dinosaur toys. I'll have to send my sister this to show him. www-bbc-co-uk.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.bbc....

Doctor Who's farts were so powerful they could propel him into the air.

When you discover what Alison Goldfrapp’s new album is called:

Listening to Hope Sandoval ‘Son of a Lady’ EP on vinyl. Fun fact: you get a bonus track over digital AND the demo version of ‘Let me get there’ doesn’t have Kurt Vile adding extra unnecessary vocals (so better than the album version). Plus it’s 9.99 at Banquet Records (a fraction of the eBay cost)

Publication day for Penda's Fen: Scene By Scene. It's a non-chronological kaleidoscope of adventure through my favourite Play for Today. It was a thrill to mine the earlier drafts of Rudkin's script, which throw up so much new info. You can order it here: tenacrefilms.bigcartel.com/product/pend...

Maddening that the BBC does lovely new transfers of important archive for transmission on Four, but doesn't actually bother to tell anyone. The latest is Nigel Finch's Lost Language of Cranes which went out this week. Remi Adefarasin's photography looks *astonishing*. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...

The radio drama that got me looked at for Doctor Who, back on air tomorrow. Producer told me many years ago that the BBC had wiped the masters, so it's a collector to the rescue. Bootlegs of various qualities have been knocking around for a while, it's nice to be legit again

It’s Billy Wilder’s birthday The day after his death, Le Monde’s front page obituary had the headline: ‘Billy Wilder dies. Nobody's perfect.’
