"New Study: Caracal Pumpkin Helmet reduces head injuries by 3.2%" Fun fact about the caracal: the Ancient Egyptians tamed them and used them for hunting birds in high grass. Photo Big Cat Rescue, Florida.

Even this Pallas cat gets in on the discovery and exploration process. Photos from Calgary Zoo.

This dress is from Fanciful Doll, which is a small British company! I would say buy many things secondhand or on sale and be willing to donate or trade stuff that doesn't make you feel cute when you put it on. Yes even basics.

mayor zohran should budget 3 or 4 billion dollars a year to build eric the new york from SYNECHDOCHE, NEW YORK and let him be the mayor of it and anyone can pop in there and see what he's up to with an appointment

One of my favorite types of villains is the Affably Evil Totalitarian. Yeah they're absolute monsters but they can also hold a conversation and they have people and stuff they care about and try to make life nice for, and God help you if you touch Their People or Their Stuff.

Yeah definitely! RF was in fact a smarmy planner who projected an image of control -- at least in parts. He also crucified people for drug use instead of paying attention to him and cannot figure out how to get a car in a post-apoc world without blackmailing someone

Basically if your villain is Jamey Sheridan's interpretation of Randall Flag in the 1994 miniseries of the Stand, I'm obsessed If they're Alexander Skarsgard as Randall Flagg in the 2020 miniseries I feel like I've wasted my time

my favorite villains are drama queens. they project. they panic. they get attached to other people too fast and too loudly. they throw temper tantrums. they play stupid social games and win stupid prizes. they talk a big game abt the big picture but absolutely embarrass themselves for attention.

in hindsight it should have been obvious that I was going to be the queerdo in the family after the bluejays started nesting outside my window in the family home

How to portray fascism and totalizing ideologies in games (could be a good corollary to antifascism). The single hero versus community uprisings. Different types of apocalyptic stories and aesthetics. Building community. Conflict resolution at the table.

oh my goodness we should go on a seaside holiday once I am finally relieved of my wandering hysterical uterus and walk your dog and drink lemonade and discuss the state of the haute monde

I already have my husband/nesting partner on board to write a letter to the doctor supporting my decision to forestall the possible "but you know no babies right, what about babies" but like. Maybe explaining that I am crazy will help.

sorry you actually have to like, engage in community-building ("but making friends won't solve fascism") and creative thinking in order to push and keep fascists out of power
