Why have corner stores when you could instead have a field of mushrooms to forage?

They seem to be recovering from a tendency to just have three people guess answers to questions they know absolutely nothing about, which I appreciate because it’s a fun show.

Could you tell me that I now own something called buttcoin?

I think that’s a lot of the culture here. The influential accounts decide what opinions must be had, and smaller accounts pile on to fit in when there’s any contravention of that norm. It’s probably amplified by the fact that “rich people are bad” is part of that starter pack of opinions.

Alright this one made me giggle like an idiot.

A little bit of that in Vancouver, but our right wing nut jobs import a lot from the US.

Absolutely awful. Created a toxic workplace that drove out anyone there interested in making a difference.

People are idiots. This is great.

You’d think they’d want some of those.

Surely no one in his inner circle shorted Apple yesterday!

When I was about 5 my grandmother told me that Hawaiians were Japanese and that just became a fact I filed away until much later I randomly remembered her saying it and went “wait a damn minute.” In retrospect I think she was just being generically racist.

I had a printing rep do that to me once. He also had another envelope which he talked about vaguely threateningly. It was a weird day.

A population is only ever one type of dried mango away from a revolution.

We could have done so much better if people didn’t weirdly hate bicycles so much.

We thought Watson was bad, Sutcliffe is maybe the worst mayor we’ve ever had. Serial liar and incompetent dipshit.

I got my dad one of these. He loved it until it constantly stopped working for reasons like this. To his credit he just yelled at them until they sent him a new one about four times.

This guy pisses me off so much every time I see him he can’t be real.

He apparently loved the show so much he emailed them and asked to be on it!

Oh wow this looks very cool. How is exercising with a VR headset on? I love the idea but it feels... uncomfortable. Also, did you stop breathing for a second when you went underwater?

It’s the responsibility of the billboard company. She would have had a contract that said it came down on a certain date and the company didn’t do it.

I spent a good long time reading replies to figure out what the scandal was before I realized it was "she is in a relationship with someone mildly notable."

I'll never be happy again

Me too! It’s the only podcast where the more boring the subject the more interesting the episode is.

99% Invisible is mostly not depressing and you get to learn things like how rebar shaped the world.

The "Drumpf" really is the dead giveaway here.

I think this is a case of operant conditioning and mental health issues. "I am a genius who has found a secret truth about good and evil and am sent by God to correct it" is pretty classic psychosis. That idea gets reinforced by things like Reddit, but much more quickly and consistently with AI.

I hope we don’t have to do it again in a year.

I live in his riding and I definitely saw trees moving last night.
