Oh man, my first was IX back in 2001ish, I've seen X recommended, its also amazing, but imo best to do IX first. X has a whole different (but still amazing) vibe, where IX feels like it still has that traditional JRPG energy behind it. I'd also highly recommend VI for real old school perfection!

I feel for him, it must be so disheartening to have spent years building this world and story, watched it come to life in the first few seasons of the show, then see someone else butcher his plans and deliver a rushed ending that the majority will view as the real thing. No wonder he's struggling.

By the time I'm finished the whole solo process of writing, recording, mix/mastering, I've heard my music so many times that I find it so hard to even promote when I finally do release it đ vicious cycle.

Recently finished DMing an arc of a campaign, and now that we're on a hiatus, one of the players has taken over to DM his character's prequel story. Being a passenger, and getting to play in the world I dreamt up, I was surprisingly emotional in that first session!
