You also need to add additional due process rights. ICE is acting with impunity in a way that FBI agents or police cannot. The days of ICE being allowed to arrest whoever they want and immigration courts rubber-stamping deportations to anywhere need to end.

Kind of incredible that the Supreme Court has decided 16 cases involving this administration just in a few months. The Supreme Court typically decides only 80 cases per year. This shows how unusual and concerning their frequent use of the shadow docket is.

I arrived home in the US after a trip abroad a few days ago, and the whole customs check at the airport was simply shut down. They checked passports and that’s it. The machines to check bags were unmanned and there was no one to check our bags. Probably diverted staff to ICE ops.

It’s not to appease the racists but to win the battle for public opinion. It’s obviously much harder for the right to sell a convincing story that the protests are anti-American if there are US flags everywhere (along with Mexican flags etc.).
