True story. Sports updates are the only reason I still have an account there, but I don’t post or read the crap comments (oh and @3yearletterman.bsky.social Cousin Brad hasn’t figured out how to cross post to Bluesky from his MySpace, but he’ll sober up someday and get to it)

These are good solutions. I’d like a “Fans for Fans” giveaway night, where fans who sit behind home plate are given mini fans, and asked to only blow them towards the outfield during Mariners at bats. Hopefully it helps the ball carry. And John can sell them during all non giveaway games

Which move would be the chef’s kiss to top off the off-season: 1) bring Ty back to platoon with Raley; 2) trade Haniger for Ray, with Ray operating as the team’s closer; 3) flip Garver for salary relief, kick the tires on Austin Nola or Seby Zavala.

Poor timing for him, I don’t think there are very many more jobs available in Trump’s cabinet

Houston was notorious for no zoning, no regulation. Harvey happened — guess what — they flooded. Were there demands to fix everything and institute zoning and fix everything? Nope, just help. Because we’re not monsters.

Reds pulled your trick with the CB pick for Lux. While I don’t think it’s a smart move (you probably get at least a 3x return on money spent on draft picks, and I’d much rather have Tai Peete in the org than Ryne Stanek or whoever you get for that number), but it’s out there.
comment in response to post
In connection with the Reds trade for Lux, their GM mentioned that they were willing to send the Comp A pick because it would save them 2.5m, and they could reinvest that in the roster. I think that approach is penny wise and pound foolish; so how likely is it that Stanton has Jerry do the same?

I’m about to list a property in Houston - not only could they have that steady, solid, real estate investment, but they’d likely save 20ish hotel nights per year by having a place for the rookies to stay.

Me: it’s really not bad, just be safe and do everything (speed, braking, etc) in moderation Half of Texas: okay so I’ll drive 10 MPH while straddling two lanes with my emergency signals on Other half of Texas: so do like 75 while weaving in and out of traffic?

I mean. Trump literally opened the floodgates in West Houston and flooded thousands of homes after Hurricane Harvey (which I don’t blame his government for, they needed to do something), but dems will always get blamed for shit beyond their control 8x more than republicans for shit they actually did
