No, she moved the election to 2026 (a midterm year) by doing this rather than having it be this year. Basically guarantees a progressive win IMO but it's very anti-democratic to deny her constituents elected representation for that long.

The "Your previous emails stated" screams AI generated to me. Do actual people write this way? What a strange way to summarize what must have been personable emails you sent.

I think her former career as a judge set her up for failure here. She couldn't handle not being in control of everyone in the room and that people could scrutinize and question her decisions.

The remaining 8 council members will vote to appoint a replacement. There'll be an application process and I encourage good people who live in D5 to apply. I don't trust this council to appoint someone good, but it should at least be clear to the public that qualified people are interested.

Thank you Erica, I hope you or another reporter will have a chance to ask Moore why she waited until after filing week to resign and denied her constituents the opportunity to have an elected representative for an entire additional year. Scandalous behavior from an elected official!

The usual advice would be to call your council member but she clearly doesn't give a damn about her constituents!

We really should fill these vacancies by special election rather than by appointment.

Seriously, this is shrinking jobs for working people and homes for working families. Where is Liuna, MLK Labor, and Seattle Building Trades when their endorsed candidates (Harrell, Nelson, Rivera, etc) take these stances that directly harm the job prospects of their members?

Billions stolen from California to send to Texas. Intolerable. Looting us like we're conquered territory, no free society should stand for being treated like this bsky.app/profile/joek...

Ferguson clearly doesn't have what it takes to lead. I hope Dems in #waleg recognize this and just pass the budget they feel is right. Don't worry about what Ferguson will do, he has abandoned any claims to being able to lead WA through the present crisis.
