This bloviating outrage about protecting immigrants is fucking rich coming from Councilmember Saka who famously said "our default approach is collaboration" with the 2nd Trump administration. What an asshole. ronpdavis.substack.com/p/rob-saka-c...

Proud to join Youth Leaders today in Endorsing Shasti Conrad for DNC Vice Chair: Dear Fellow DNC Members, While we are not a monolith, we thought it was important for you to know where many of us stand in this DNC Vice Chair election.🧵

This is the fuckin best, I feel like I just had a few hours of therapy

This surprises people but my favorite social media platform is probably YouTube. If I have an hour of time, I’ll watch a long-form video on something interesting. I like it more than TV. Been this way for a decade or more. Anyway, I know what I’m talking about. Jamelle is good at this. Watch him.

20% of Seattle is foreign born. 50% of my neighborhood is non-white. I'm the child of an immigrant (albeit not the kind they're targeting). anybody in Seattle who thinks this won't be a big deal here needs to open their eyes and hearts

Collaborators

yeah i love waymo, way mo immigrants coming to my city

LAPD fired rubber bullets at Australian journalist @laurentomasi.bsky.social

"My name is Greta Thunberg and I am from Sweden. If you see this video, we have been intercepted and kidnapped in international waters by the Israeli occupational forces, or forces that support Israel."

If you’re frustrated at the national level - like us - take some time to help out a local campaign and meet some rad people making a difference in your community!

kind of just endlessly sad and grieving that there are so few voices in the public sphere making the basic principled argument that immigration is an affirmative good in every way and the best way for this country to serve humanity is to welcome people who want or need to leave their homes

This is so jarringly unAmerican that I sort of hope it wakes some normies up. It is occurring in a context where military-style equipment is being used to enforce immigration roundups and conveys the notion that we are increasingly living in a police state.

Stunning hypocrisy: Moore chose for District 5 voters to go 17 months without an elected CM, when she could have made it 5 months. She did this *right* after feigning that her crusade to lower ethical rules for CMs was to *increase* democratic representation. rondezvous.beehiiv.com/p/more-chaos...

While I was waiting at the bus stop I assigned all my vouchers for Katie Wilson — you can too! Need help? Reach out to @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social We need a housing and transit champion, action-oriented, kind leader for our city! democracyvoucher.seattle.gov/vouchers/

Moore announced 4 weeks after filing date, denying her constituents representation by someone they pick--for an extra YEAR. This AFTER claiming her proposal to remove the requirement that councilmembers recuse themselves when they have a financial conflict of interest was on behalf of "democracy."

Former D5 candidate Nilu Jenks says she's planning to put her name in the running to replace Cathy Moore on the Seattle City Council, after Moore announced today she'll be resigning her seat in early July.

Cathy Moore lied about supporting building more affordable homes and expanding addiction treatment services when running for this seat. And she's surprised when her constituents responded by criticizing her for going back on her word after being elected???

Resigning 1.5 months after filing week so that the council appointee will be able to serve for an additional year is anti-democratic bullshit and along with Moore's attempted roll back of ethics rules will be her only lasting legacy. Good riddance.

Lol. Lmao.

See you tomorrow!

We’re fixing Atlantic Avenue! This is what a comprehensive community-led rezoning looks like 🏠

vocal opposition to democratic gerontocracy is nifty because it serves a constructive purpose — passing the torch — and a political one: signaling independence from The Democrats.

SDOT needs to create a car-free perimeter around every school. Why do we wait until a child is killed?

Voters are done with Harrell and want change. They respond really well to @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social’s message. She can win this!

we should be frank and sober over the textbook example of irony that is gerry connolly expiring 4 months into a leadership position that AOC was squeezed out of because the other octogenarians in dem leadership, notably pelosi (85yo), have a running beef with how AOC tries to disrupt the party

Limiting our access to our parks is a terrible “solution.”

This is—it bears repeating—ethnic cleansing and a war crime. It feels utterly pointless to say, and roughly equivalent to screaming into the void, but the United States should not be supporting or providing any aid to a state that has ethnic cleansing as a policy position.

You have three days, starting today, to leave a public comment with the FDA about, say, why COVID-19 boosters should remain available to everyone and also free. "Individual consumer" is the category you most likely want (unless you are one of the other categories; if so, choose that).

The 46th District Democrats have endorsed Dionne Foster for Seattle City Council Position 9 -- and by quite a sizable margin over incumbent Sara Nelson. Foster got 83% of the vote, Nelson 15%, 2% for no endorsement. You love to see it!

In this piece, Mayor Bruce Harrell gives us a master class in failed leadership. 🧵

It’s really wild how there is no reason to deport anyone, let alone children and US citizens and LPRs and students and people undergoing cancer treatment etc. it’s all a fake solution to a made up problem enacted by violent racists who are stealing from you

All friends of the beautiful State of Washington are saddened by the sudden passing of Senator Bill Ramos, a stalwart leader of so many efforts to protect this magnificent slice of the garden. We’ll all need to step up after this loss.

If you’ve endorsed Bruce Harrell to be re-elected for Seattle Mayor… why? Are you afraid of retaliation if you don’t endorse him? Do you think he’s made a healthy work environment at city hall? Do you think he’s shown leadership on land use or transportation? (He has not.)

If your Rep or Senator isn't capable of doing Van Hollen-style stuff — for cowardice reasons, or because they're infirm, or they're belatedly sucking up to a dying Trump movement, or really any other reason — you should primary them. It's gonna take a lot more stuff like this. All hands on deck.

👍

Now more than ever, we need a leaders who have a clear vision for how to get out of crisis. Join our team: WilsonForSeattle.com

I'm sorry, @governorferguson.bsky.social, this is just unacceptable. You're not providing any leadership here in a moment where bold and strong leadership is urgently needed. You offer only criticisms without solutions. If you won't lead, step aside for someone who will.

I find myself getting sincerely emotional about this. That he’s, under the circumstances, okay. That his wife and kids know this after an agonizing month without him. That a Democratic politician cared enough to go and see him, even after getting told no at first. Trying matters. Fighting works.

🧵 THREAD: A federal whistleblower just dropped one of the most disturbing cybersecurity disclosures I’ve ever read. He's saying DOGE came in, data went out, and Russians started attempting logins with new valid DOGE passwords Media's coverage wasn't detailed enough so I dug into his testimony:
