But any consenting adult is qualified, no?

It's a shame @cbsnews.com has fully given up on journalism.

No.

I quit speaking to literally everyone who voted a fascist into office. Thats not just "different." Its wrong.

And many of those dudes had zero-down, low interest mortgages from the GI bill. AKA socialism.

Proportionally, it's quite common for people of modest means to give 10% of their annual income. She comes nowhere close. The average old church lady digs much deeper.

That being said, Duran Duran were absolutely a better band than the Beatles, and thats a hill i would die on. It's undeniable.

And a passing strident remark that would be easily identified as sardonic or satirical if spoken, will inevitably be regarded and responded to as a deeply held belief.

If this were remotwly true, a news outlet would have picked it up. I wont click a nypost link, but im confident it's garbage.

Evil is as evil does. I'm not assuming anything. These people openly and knowingly voted for evil. If they see fit to change I can forgive them. But until then I wont pretend they're anything other than fascists. Those with any hope of redemption can prove me wrong. I wont hold my breath.

When they're throwing you in the back of a van that's not a helpful distinction. The friendly fascists are no better than the bitter ones.

I can understand a negative sentiment toward unions to some extent. But who are these people with a positive view of big business?
comment in response to post
That's excessive. Just adjust the course with a sharpie

Or a very powerful light

When these are the kinds of people he's nominating, why in the fuck would you ever vote to confirm another, Cory? Zero. Votes. Ever.

Last I heard he thinks they're "raw earth" minerals. But doesn't "rare" actually mean hard to find in this case? Or are they easy to find but scant in quantity?

I'm 87% sure these are two photos of the same person

I'd prefer to see representatives smart enough not to vote for the likes of Marco Rubio in the first place. And this is nowhere near top of the list of what I'd like to see done to his face.

Which means they can claim NOAA and NWS are broken, and justify selling the assets to AccuWeather for pennies on the dollar. And their billionaire cronies will have a monopoly on forecasting, and sell access to extreme weather warnings. It's all spelled out in Project 2025.

No black faces. 5 or 6 non-white faces, but they're easy to miss, they're grinning like they're not in a photograph with Greg Abbott

It was only a paid union gig after two unpaid rounds of auditions.

Let's just hope they forego the minimum specs

At first I thought you meant Quinta, and my reaction was "rude...but fair."

He has a congress that's abdicated its responsibility to govern. He's "accomplished" more via illegal executive orders than any president has with legislation.

Nowadays, God only knows. But it was certainly his primary residence when Pennsylvania elected him as their Senator.

Id say you should protest at his house, but who wants to go to Connecticut?

Brownshirts in all but color

I wish they could swap jobs. Trump could get his pomp and circumstance and unearned adoration. And we could get a leader who loves the US without hating the rest of the world.

Catholicism is the stroad to redemption.

It's always projection with these people. They assume there's graft and abuse because that would be their own first inclination in any role.

Using "Democrat" as an adjective is a dead giveaway of an unthinking cultist.

The definitive Yacht Rock documentary is the original YouTube web series.

Are you referring to dangerous, undocumented foreign national Stephen Miller? Somebody should tell ICE about that guy
comment in response to post
This Stephen Miller guy seems a lot like a foreign trespasser. Straight to jail.

Congress came up with that. It's their constitutional responsibility to set tariffs. They abdicated that role to the president. He can only do what Congress lets him do.

And nothing learned by Ohio specifically.

I'd pay good money for a ranking of Trump's IQ vs everyone he's described as low-IQ. But I'm positive he couldn't even complete the test.

The last pope has this to say about the 2024 election, so I wouldn't hold my breath. "One should vote, and choose the lesser evil. Who is the lesser evil, the woman or man? I don’t know."

Very sad that one of the things I had to learn today is that 1488 is apparently a racist number.

I volunteer every Republican Senator and Congressmen for the placebo. And their children.

"Normal Americans" certainly understand oligarchy, and are against it. But we don't have any reason to believe MAGA voters understand it, or have much capacity to learn. We dont need to reach normal Americans, we need to reach the abnormal ones. Condescension is warranted.
comment in response to post
It's not insulting to *our* intelligence. I rarely disagree with Bernie, but the people we need to reach don't understand words like "oligarchy." Chances are that anyone who understands what oligarchy is as a concept is already aligned on fighting it.
comment in response to post
It's crazy, but a plurality of Americans concur.

I don't find the sleeping disrespectful. He should sleep more often, that's the only time he's not being actively offensive. The blue suit, however, is unforgivable. Even asleep he's passively abhorrent, but I'll take it.

The only issue with "basket of deplorables" was she thought it was only half. It's 90% of Trump voters. Absolutely irredeemable.
comment in response to post
~5% of any poll will be bogus or fraudulent, let's hope it's mostly that.
comment in response to post
If we want to educate MAGA voters, four-syllable words are a non-starter
comment in response to post
MAGA voters almost certainly don't. If they understood concepts like oligarchy we wouldn't be in this mess.
