Good news - we got the last of the boxes out of storage so all my stuff is home and we're saving a couple of hundred quid a month in fees. Bad news - I now have eleventy-billion boxes to unpack and I have to find homes for it all!

I'd choose Darcula's bench on Whitby's North cliff looking over the North sea and the harbour and imagining a big black dog leaping from a wrecked ship and running up the 101 steps to the Abbey that I can see in front of me. Then fish and chips at Magpie's when it gets too cold.

I make really good yorkshire puddings and I never use a recipe. It's all done by eye and by feel.

Yep. I'm on day 3 now.

Two ends of the same tube after all.

That sounds like a great way to start the day :)

Going to set up a feeding station in the garden - although we have bifold doors on the back so he might end up fighting with himself even more!

@rspb.bsky.social Not sure how he's caught sight of a reflection here as it's such a narrow space.

@persiflage.bsky.social Well, the bin bag worked. We were even able to take it down last week and the crow hasn't been back at all - at least not to that window! Now he's at the back door on the opposite side of the house!! He's been back a few times. We've named him Edgar Allan Crow 🐦‍⬛

He seems like an OK guy to be fair. Maybe he'd share if asked?

I think the mayor gets the job every year. You'd think he could share!

I live in Newport Pagnell and know some of the Christmas lights team. Do you need me to put a word in for you?

I've had a gall stone attack every single time I've been to Smashburger. So greasy!

One person said I was 'employee of the term'. I didn't win but it was nice to be appreciated.

Ask the house poltergeist to wrap his icy cold fingers around your head. Always helps when I have a migraine :)

They'll be complaining that the Bohemian Rhapsody movie made Freddie Mercury gay next!

Was that really necessary?

Oh yes! You've just reminded me about runners who keep change in a pocket during an event. I had to speed up or slow down as I can't run next to them! Water bottles too. I used to do half marathons with no water because I couldn't bear the sloshing.

No problem with the carrier bags. Not a huge fan of wet mouth noises but they don't make me instantly homicidal like whistling. It probably helps that I'm also slightly deaf so low tones are harder for me to hear. High pitched whistling gets straight through.

I don't have trypophobia but I do have misophonia and have the same reaction to whistling. It makes me instantly panicked and angry.

I'm not a huge gin drinker but the Whitby Distillery Demeter edition is really nice. Also crazily expensive but it's small batch stuff.

I'm that person who always ends up with the cat who hates people sat on my lap. Within an hour - even on antihistamines - I'm an itchy, snotty mess. Mainly because I can't resist stroking them :)

I've been ill all week but it does mean that I've had lots of time to work on my new discworld book nook.

I really wish husband and I weren't allergic to cats as I'd love to have one. Kali is beautiful.

A better birdy window today. The tree outside my bedroom window is buzzing with little tits. I counted about ten!
comment in response to post
Husband reports that there has been no hammering on the window today so the bin bag seems to have worked. Hopefully I can take the bag down in a week or so and He'll have forgotten about the 'other bird' and stop coming over to start a fight.

Sort of. I look after the registers and send out all letters regarding attendance for all five heads of year. It's a big school.
