not at all. like...tell a person from New England about Vietnamese Cajun cuisine and their mind would probably melt. or how much cool Indian street food you can find in Atlanta. Every culture of the world in Houston.

Hate those nasty guys. They usually end up winning in my garden 😓

Yep and from Metairie! Saw you on some NOLA thread.

That's what I'm saying, driving 8+ hours to the panhandle tomorrow. I did think it was farther to Outer Banks, I stand corrected!

I need to get out there one of these days, it seems like an other worldly place. Just a hard call when it's a shorter drive to the redneck riviera than driving clear across this state 😂

Then it's gonna be a great time!!

I thought about a meal out but I decided dealing with reservations and the check for a party of 21 would be more stress than it's worth.

AMEN! The natural progression lol. I'm having one meal of this trip catered (just casual delivery catering, nothing fancy). There will also be pizza ordered. Gotta learn how to divide and conquer!

I did this to myself. 😂 Hypothetically it's gonna be fine because I have been planning this for months, I have a whole spreadsheet, and I'm having a second load of refrigerated/frozen stuff delivered once we reach the destination. But inside my brain I'm catastrophizing! Feels like a lot of pressure

I do actually believe we were given proper warning. Reading NWS alert in hindsight is just as bone-chilling to me as Katrina, and now I've been through both. I was panicked, my native coworkers were calm. Just was no precedent for this. No media mentions the 2 days of unrelated rain BEFORE Helene!

Well, you were commenting on an article centered around WNC and ETN. I'm from the Gulf Coast. I agree too many try to "ride it out" there. But there's no precedent here like there is on the coast for what happened in September.

WNC is not "hurricane country."

To be clear, the cicadas up here (constant) make a different sound than the cicadas back home (undulating), which is weird tbh.

When we moved and I was able to book water and power to be turned on online, and those utility techs showed up on the exact time and date, and things just magically worked... I was flabbergasted. I was equally as shocked watching the water run down the hill of our street during the 1st thunderstorm

These holidays are weird and make people crazy and make a lot more people feel like shit, I don't know why we perpetuate this stuff

Oof 😓 you could separate out the lilies to enjoy outside, and enjoy the rest inside?

It is fantastic and fascinating but my dog thinks they are all crunchy delicious treats 🤢

I understand and appreciate that. My concern is this being treated as a replacement for an annual physical exam despite the fact that it is indeed better than nothing.

Yeah I'd much rather a medical professional perform my Pap smear to be sure I get a good sample and a diagnostic result.

I need a visual on how to "fold it up." This sounds insanely delicious but I need help. Like you flip the entire thing over so it's egg up, tortilla down, then fold in thirds? The hoisin goes on the outside of the tortilla or the inside with the egg? Flour tortilla or corn? Tell it to me like I'm 5
