What are some favorite escape books for your students? Books for middle and high school all seem so heavy!

I am so fucking done with whiny trump voters with buyers remorse. If you are too ill-informed to understand what you are voting for, then don’t vote. Don’t impose your ignorance on the rest of us. I hope their kids are ok, but I don’t give one fuck about those so-called adults.

And thank your lucky stars that you are not trying to do this with three kids... Good luck!

Some advice that my mom - a veteran of over a dozen moves: (a) Unpack the kitchen first. (b) Unpack ALL boxes within 48 hours of arriving. Get the cardboard out of the house and it will force you to put everything away. It makes for a hellish couple of days, but you will be settled far faster.

And, Betsy won big in the illustrator pool - the pictures by @atsurumi.bsky.social add to the party. A winning combination for sure!

And that fantastic cover is by @erickalugo.bsky.social - I love a cover that gives you lots of details that reveal themselves over the course of the book. This one is perfect.

Yes! Emily Jenkins has a wonderful alternative in Harry vs the First 100 Days of School. A Family Circle - the child goes in the middle. The next ring is other children, then a ring of parent-aged adults, then a ring of elders. The kid decides who is important to include.

Just saw Erin Entrada Kelly at a book festival and she said The First State of Being is set in Delaware to help fill that state out.
