Living near the (free) town pool is wonderful, as I *love* to swim (and dive under, and just be in the water). I do not love, however, being stuffy and tired afterward. (Oh well, the things we suffer for what we love)

Husband laid down on the bed just after we put down the bottom sheet…so I just continued making the bed over him. (Sadly I have no pre-pillows photos)

I swear that the absolutely most frustrating thing in writing is when you have Scene A done, and you have Scene B done, but when it comes to writing the bridge between the two, *absolutely nothing seems to work*. #amWriting #writeSky

Happy Solstice, everyone!

Willow-cat, of all the places in the house to loaf, why would you choose *in the boot tray under my dripping bathing suit???* (Of course, this is the same cat we have previously found loafed in 1) my frying pan and 2) the garbage — not eating the garbage, just sitting loafed inside the trash can)

David R. Hagen just solved a small mystery that I mentioned 13 years ago in the mouseover text of a comic drhagen.com/blog/the-mis...

This would be my husband and me (I’m blue, although I’m not quite *that* bad anymore)

I had a wonderful Father’s Day weekend with my dad coming up here for a visit. It was quiet, we didn’t end up doing things according to plan (including the fact I thought I was going to his house this weekend until earlier this week) but we spent quality time together and that’s the important part.

Doing pretty well this morning. I only brewed my tea for 14 minutes this time ! 🤦‍♀️ (Thankfully it was black tea)

I was going to write and maybe post a fic chapter tonight after a LONG dry spell — but I ended up having to help my mum deal with a tick bite instead. I loathe ticks.

Hey friends I'm looking for someone to help out at my booth during Worldcon Seattle. You get: a convention badge and WSFS membership (including Hugo nomination/voting). Commitment: Six to eight hours over the course of the convention, with most of it on setup and teardown. Lmk if u wanna help?

In this time of chaos, I give you a moment of calm: listen to the spring peepers being happy. (Video of a back yard with audio of spring peepers in the background)

C has been playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and this game is excellent. The art is stunning, music is symphonic, world and story original and intriguing. The gameplay is a fusion of the Horizon games and traditional turn-based RPGs — combat is party-based with some realtime mechanics. #gaming

My preferred time of day depends on the time of year. I LOVE summer nights (especially with fireflies). During the winter I also love the night, with its crisp air and brilliant stars. But during spring and autumn, when I can best enjoy being in the sunshine, I find daytime to be most pleasant.

Had our first truly warm day of the year here (it hit mid-80’s), and now I am sitting directly beside an open window, feeling the cool night breeze coming in as I write. It is one of my favorite sensations.

There is bao at the local farmers market. There are currently two flavors and both are delicious and both look the same on the outside. So husband and I have begun getting one of each and playing bao roulette as to who gets what flavor.

Making sketches of characters helps me work out details about them and the universe(s) they inhabit. #amWriting #writeSky
