Even "we don't want other people making them" is suspect when you realize that the administration has done zero to promote domestic re-industrialization. Tariffs alone are not a plan.

Narcissism is a zero-sum game. You have to lose in order for him to win and that includes allies. I think Stephen Miller has survived the longest in his orbit?

Have you ever ridden the NEC at 1AM. They deserve a competitive salary at the very least.

Both are a kind of social voyeurism where you obtain gratification by witnessing the suffering of others detached from the obligation to help reduce that suffering.

I've heard some folks talk about shoving the presidency down his throat. Make him own every failure. I think this is vital. He wanted the Fed to lower interest rates. They ignored him. It's a sign of weakness. The left needs to make him own things that in every media outlet available.

We need a counter influence strategy that meets MAGA where they are - in the emotions. We are always going to lose the intellectual debate because they aren't interested in having one in the first place.

You can see the failure in these hearings. We all know RFK Jr isn't suitable for the job (or probably any job for that matter) so it's kind of silly to debate it. MAGA likes the idea of him and that's enough for them.

It's fine if we want to have thoughtful and nuanced discussions amongst ourselves but we need a counter-influence strategy that's capable of meeting this MAGA moment.

But he's evolved into a vindictive wrecking ball whose supporters are operating primarily on emotion. He doesn't want to be in the W.H.O. anymore so he left. He doesn't care about the legality or the practical impacts it might have here and in the international community and neither does MAGA.

I've noticed a real dedication on the left and in a lot of the media to wanting to continue having discussions about, "What do you think Trump meant?" and "Is that legal?" and it's all really nuanced and thoughtful and very 2016-2020.
