Sounds scammy. You know, they make good money, why do they have to soil their profession with money-grabbing tactics?

I'm guessing the > $600 for "better" just meant prescription lenses rather than standard ones? A relative had cataract surgery, the doc said, "Just so you know, you can get prescription ones, but they cost more..or you can get the regular ones at no cost." He was not recommending the costlier ones.

Oh man, if you could keep quoting Star Wars throughout this, that would be perfect.

Thank you for this. Informative but disappointing. 🫤

Is there no legal mechanism to immediately remove Trump from office and/or counter his undermining of democracy?

"FascistFest and White Hood Hootenanny"
Someone should replace their current banner with this. Brilliant.

Why do you besmirch Winnipeg with a name like that? And it's 2,500 km away, thankyouverymuch.

Sabine, your efforts remind me a lot of Cecil Adams' "The Straight Dope" publication. The tagline is, "Fighting ignorance since 1973. (It’s taking longer than we thought.)"
Substitute 1973 with 20...whatever, and it fits!

I may have. been doing this wrong, but I replace the wired smoke detectors without turning any power off. I unplug the old detector, plug in new detector, done. Have I been lucky in not blowing up my house? 🤔

That's generally my take. It's interesting in that the premise of the Oxford comma wasn't introduced to me until I was in my late 30s; I never saw a need for one before then (or after, mind). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I get the argument for Oxford comma -- my personal take is it has its place but it isn't everyplace. In this case, what clarity would said comma add? I could be missing something but don't see it.

And he does it with class. Dude is in a league of his own.

It's the troglodytes. In Copenhagen, cyclists are everywhere, including people wearing business attire. It's not a difficult thing to do and so many benefit directly and indirectly

Every leader has people like this. It's good to weed them out

I highly recommend the Kidde KN-COPE-ICCA. On top of being a good product, they have great product support.

My only hope is that these invites are for a personal “Don’t F With Us” message but that may be a pipe dream.

The "moving the goalposts" game is fun with these peeps!

Yup, I think most people are questioning this decision.

Is it possible it's to give Modi stern warnings in person, under the pretense of a friendly invite?

Maybe... MAYBE... to get in his face when he's on our soil about the whole killings and political interference. One can hope.

What a nice writeup. As Jack Mcgraw said, you simply will not see that from any CPC member these days. Happy to have an former one come out and say it.

It's funny, the old aphorism "Conservatives know the cost of everything and the value of nothing" just keeps proving itself over and again. The expression is no secret, so I have to assume they have no self-awareness.

I am conflicted, as I also recall delivering those weekend newspapers and still have reverberations of "ow". But yes, the copious amount of news, entertainment, etc, was a thing to be appreciated. I wonder what kids/young adults of today will miss in 20-30 years.

So many memories with this one. Not the least of which being Geddy Lee's line, "Hey well ten bucks is ten bucks". Fantastic album!
