1/ Two years later… and the damage is still there. A new study followed Long COVID patients 2 years after infection. The findings? Not subtle. They measured what the virus left behind. Let’s walk through it. 🧵 h/t @njenkinsphd.bsky.social

This picture is a fine example of why looks can be deceiving: A few days out of emergency surgery After a potentially fatal bleed In pain from surgery Fatigue (Non-contagious) Throat infection from metronidazole Plus usual post vac symptoms ✨ But i look happy & healthy ✨

This is extremely useful.

They can't give us the disability support we need to be who we are. Then everyone would demand they tear up the stories written for us. RIP, the original intent. 🥀 @criprights.bsky.social #NDIS #Auspol #HarmCostsMore

NDIA business as usual. #Auspol #NDIS #AusVotes

The Nationals leader has just said children who commit crimes should have their civil rights "put aside" if anyone was wondering how the campaign was going.

Is anyone interested in here about the assisted suicide bill in the UK? i wanted to stop using X, but there seems to be complete silence here.

Seems vampire bats have more morals than the Labour Party

With a third of voters not voting ALP or LNP, the duopoly is at a tipping point. A balanced parliament where neither ALP or LNP has the numbers, and independents/minor parties share legislative power would be the best, most democratic outcome. #auspol

Today I saw a doctor put a mask on to see us… no asking. He saw a mask, he wore a mask. Doesn’t sound like much, but it still meant a lot.

No, masking is no longer mandatory in the community. However, it is mandatory inside *my home*, especially for workers who are being paid through the #NDIS. If a worker can't meet the PPE requirement of the role, find me one who can. 👆 This is a conversation that I shouldn't need to be having.

Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine (Ed. Fauci) said in the 2015 edition that influenza was airborne, but they were less certain about SARS. Now the NYT says SARS is airborne…but they're not so sure about influenza! 🤡https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/03/health/bird-flu-airborne-covid.html

I cannot trust the new #NDIS budget approach when I’m still trying to substantiate evidence for the existing Autism TSP’s problematic assumptions about my needs. As Justin Warren put it, “trust is earned…too few agencies want to do the work to earn that trust.” @jeremynadel8.bsky.social #Auspol

Five years since the WHO marked COVID as a pandemic, our new report finds undiagnosed cases and long-term health impacts of the pandemic have driven an enduring decline in life expectancy. Report co-author A/Prof Suman Majumdar spoke to The Australian: www.theaustralian.com.au/health/covid...

Today @burnetinstitute.bsky.social launched a report on COVID's impact on mortality in Australia. Oz experienced a low toll in the first 2 years, but 30,000+ have died since - now plateauing at 7,000+ deaths/year. What does this mean & what can be done? Read on... www.burnet.edu.au/knowledge-an...

The founder of Climate 200, one of the most significant movements in Australian politics for a generation, Simon Holmes a Court, will be speaking tomorrow at the National Press Club in Canberra. Simon is an erudite and fascinating speaker so if you can, tune in or get along to the NPC for this one.

Morrison wouldn’t hold a hose and Dutton can’t fill a sandbag

I’m not sure anything has ever described my family’s situation as succinctly as “Medical Betrayal Syndrome”.

This week in The Journal of No Shit, Sherlock...

So I've just seen gyne. Please dont bombard me with suggestions, i am exhausted and need time to process. This is just for info as i know people are interested and i feel so lucky to have this level of support 🙏🏻💛 🧵

It would be helpful if more people understood renewable energy is actually an extremely disruptive technology and the reason monied interests are trying to make folks hate it is that they are the ones which will be disrupted.

This question is for anyone bedbound, but especially my #LongCovid and #MECFS friends: Did you decorate your ceiling? If so, how did you do it? I am very, very bored of staring at a white ceiling.

I wonder how much online conspiracy/qanon/unhinged bullshit is a result of men reading fewer and fewer books every year. Used to be these people would be stuck in an 800 page Tom Clancy novel, not bothering anyone. But now they don’t even do that anymore. They’re online talking to each other.

If I had only known five years ago how much worse things were about to become I would have looked around so I could remember how it was before. If you only knew in this moment how much worse things are about to become you would look around so you can remember how it was before.

Since Congress’s allotted funds have already been improperly unallocated, U.S. citizens are questioning whether they are legally required to continue paying federal taxes.
