The sentiment is much appreciated, but I don’t have it in me. I’m still in debt from my last campaign, and the journalists who smeared me after I won the jungle primary in 2020 destroyed my reputation quite effectively. I learned that the hard way when trying to come back in 2022.

Anyone unwilling to raise their voice should neither hold office nor run for it. This timidity among individuals is what allowed the collapse of institutions that once safeguarded democracy.
