Taking this bus to Mt. Si when I lived in Seattle was a really fond memory! I met an ultramarathon runner who lived car free and took this bus to run up and down the mountain every week.

#TransitToTrails is absolutely an unmet need across the country, which is why I am
working on @transittrekker.bsky.social and folks like @tsch.uy @writingwelbers.bsky.social & @hpan3.bsky.social are likewise working to promote more service.

So, actually we were bike blocked by the first departure as all three racks were filled. We have two bikes on this run and we are the only cyclists, nobody else got bike blocked.

Lmao, as I read this reporting, I thought to myself wow, MRSC is gonna have fun with this one; then, boom! MRSC has guidance, of course.

Lol, this is one of the original systems that triggered my search because there is also a Mountain Line in Flagstaff, Arizona. 🙀

And 3/3, these will get graffitied promptly, fueling more reactionary hand-wringing about “disorder”

I was about to say that if they want to repurpose a couple of parking spaces for the kiosks, do that instead. But again — we see so many ads all day long. We don’t need more. And other cities have had bad experiences with similar kiosks.

I am so tired of giving up what little public space there is for pedestrians to move around in, especially in the most dense parts of town. That, plus we don’t need more ads thrust upon us in public space. If DSA et al want to fund its ambassadors, then they can support progressive revenue.

Probably quite common for universities. NC State has the Wolfline.

Washington State Ferries. It is part of the highway system. We also have passenger-only ferries but those are more piecemeal, operated by smaller regional transit systems.

No, it doesn’t. We are literally talking seconds. Maybe 15 or 30 seconds, max.

I was a mineral water skeptic until my partner started buying it when it gets really hot. I swear to god it really is more refreshing. And the natural carbonation makes an enormous difference. IMO.

Lansing, MI, isn't that small, but their Capital Area Transportation Authority is CATA. www.cata.org
It's not easy to find on their site (seems like they mostly use a bus-based logo now), but they have at least used a cat logo in the past, as seen on the bus on the wikipedia page.

Just found CATS! I think they are going for a more B'way show theme with their font.
