Last year for my Bellingham transit newsletter-blog sidehobby, I wrote about how improving transit access to Bellingham-area trailheads would be a great way to reduce parking headaches and mitigate some environmental impacts of local tourism. bellingham-by-bus-and-train.ghost.io/bellingham-t...

I love that King County Metro’s city-to-trailhead bus service is so popular! But wow we need more of it.

I used to be a passionate hiker. It brought me joy. It gave me what I perceived to be access to the outdoors. It allowed me access to the incredible recreation spaces my tax dollars paid for. I now hike once or twice a year since realizing how obscenely destructive it is to be driving all the time.

And because 2 folks got off at S Bellevue, we were able to let the folks waiting there board.

Somehow more people squeezed on this bus at the downtown stop.

We are barely off #CapitolHill #Seattle and Trailhead Direct is crush-loaded.

The One Season

In addition to Seth's below, more great context from the indomitable @leahsottile.bsky.social www.hcn.org/issues/56-6/...

"The tribe has “had a good time thinking of crazy stuff we could put up there,” Warnke said, but it hasn’t landed on anything concrete. One musing, Warnke said, was a message informing people that the property is tribal land."

If Burien’s city manager thinks that everything needs to adhere to a script where all the players express predetermined positions, maybe he needs to get into dramatic theater work or perhaps television, and get out of public service.

Re RCV.

Sammy's Law was "written to apply first-and-foremost to the vehicles that are killing hundreds and injuring tens of thousands of New Yorkers every year: Cars and trucks." "I am disgusted to hear that my son’s name is being used this way," says Amy Cohen. buff.ly/F3HoWI8

OK, going back to work but I will happily share new feline-themed transit systems. I haven't gotten to Canada, yet, I bet there's lots more!
