Maybe we can agree on something. Do you agree that Putin should be in the Hague with Obama, Bush, Biden and Blair? Or is it just Putin who deserves punishment?

I don't agree Noam is defending Putin and I care deeply about Ukrainians. It's our government that is selective who they care for. Putin should be treated equally as all other war criminals, tried at the Hague. But he needs to be in the dock with Netanyahu, Obama, Bush and Blair. That's only fair.

Chomsky always gets asked why he hates US. He always responds the same way, that it's very telling when people conflate criticism of US foreign (state) policy with hatred of US. You'd expect it in Stalinist Russia, not a democracy. It's not defending Putin by telling inconvenient truths.

Yes they did, Putin is a war criminal, still doesn't change reality. Remember to look at the facts, not opinions. As Chomsky argues, Putin is acting restrained in comparison to UK and US in Iraq because the civilian death count is significantly lower (by a few zeros) in Ukraine than in Iraq.

I saw the cartoon as ridiculing the BBC giving both sides air time. As if Russia and their arguments shouldn't be given air time. And I thought if there's no dialogue then it'll lead to more war, so who's going to fight? But is it more to do with Farage/Tice generally being given air time?

I wonder if any of the courageous people commenting are going to put their uniform on or get their children to fight in this war you're salivating over? Russia can barely even take the Donbas and you're comparing them to the most advanced military nation in the 40's who swept through Europe?

George your work on the environment is brilliant but leave the geopolitics to Noam. Chomsky is saying Russia is acting restrained in the context of other wars, namely the US and UK in Iraq. The civilian deaths are a fraction of Iraq. Focus on the facts, is he wrong?

Weren't you saying for the last 3 years this is a Russian war of aggression and nothing to do with the US when the campists were warning you that they didn't care for Ukraine and there was an ulterior motive? Turns out there was, impoverish Ukraine and exploit their resources. Who'd have guessed?
