Check your state laws. Virginia passed a law very quietly that makes it illegal to wear a face mask unless you have a note from your doctor in your pocket.

I was in a restaurant the other night with my husband. A few of the staff were speaking Spanish. There were only a few customers, regulars, that night, so they were safe. But I do worry for their safety overall. I've heard of ICE raids about an hour from where I live. Pray they don't come closer.

It's a waitstaff problem. They are not reporting enough tips and the restaurant cannot just make up numbers. So we have to educate and remind them every year to stay in compliance. It's an audit risk for the waitstaff as well.

Project 2025 includes a provision that it would be a 160 hour work month, no longer a 40 hour workweek. They could work you like a dog for a few weeks, then force you to take time off. They could bring someone in to cover while you are out. Straight time the whole way through.
