Despite listening to this 100s of times over the years, I somehow never realised until today that it's not Sarah Cracknell singing on this one

Being in bigger trouble than we thought is my default assumption whenever I see that Nick Clegg is sharing his opinions.

I really disliked Asteroid City and I suspect I'll feel the same about this. Mark Kermode's review sums up pretty much exactly how I feel about Wes Anderson www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVql...

Was involved in a head-on collision with a car while I was cycling home back when I lived in London. I was going pretty fast, went over the handlebars, hit my head on the windscreen, got concussion. The embarrassing bit is that the car was parked at the time...

Just watched this and went from never heard of her before to being completely in love with her in under five minutes.

Whereabouts are you going? I spent quite a bit of time in Sicily and do miss it.

... a comfy Brooks saddle, two racks, all the mounts I could ever need, superb Deore hydraulic brakes & groupset. So it's a really great bike and I like it. But I just don't ABSOLUTELY LOVE it like I did my Cannondale & other bikes. Maybe I never will, that's probably fine, but I sort of wish I did.

And that it didn't compress them so much they look like they were filmed in 1983

I also nearly ended up in the hedge, but caused by inattention due to photographing whilst cycling rather than drugs :)

I can't even begin to comprehend riding on Dartmoor with only one gear. In fact anywhere, except maybe the Fens. And if the wind isn't blowing.

I imagine it does feel like an island of strangers if you're Robert Jenrick as no one in their right mind would want to be your friend

Plymouth has been stuck with useless, corrupt councillors for decades, no discernible difference between the parties. I'm not expecting miracles, but I'm willing to give the mayoralty the benefit of the doubt, as they've generally worked well in other cities, and some kind of change is needed.

Mayors are far more democratic than council leaders. They result in much more scrutiny on councils' decisions, which is why PCC and Tudor Evans in particular are so against this, as that is the one thing they really hate. (btw, I'm no Forbes fanboy by any stretch of the imagination)

... and selected entrants and winners of the last two years' Plymouth tree photo competitions, and all 66 of this year's 'Where's That Tree To?' photos (to all the non-Janners out there that's not a typo 😄)

I did a grand tour: Peverell, Mannamead, Elford, Lipson Rd (that's a bonkers hill, almost defeated me), Freedom Fields, Barbican, The Hoe, Millbay, Devils Point, Royal William Yard, Victoria Park, home 😬

I'm imagining how welcoming that sign would be at the end of a long walk!

It must be so lovely to make beautiful physical objects that will likely last hundreds of years, using only natural materials, and have no negative environmental impact (in fact a very positive one). The complete opposite to my job of making websites that if I'm lucky will last 10yrs at the most!

I read an article about W3W and their aggressive push into public sector / emergency services a few yrs ago and thought it sounded like a terrible idea at the time. The underlying idea is great, but it should be a non-profit public service, perhaps run by Ordnance Survey who surely have the skills.

Seems weird to expect the public to be the location/tech experts, esp given they could be very distressed. Surely the call handler & their system should be able to translate "1 mile past the Warren House Inn heading towards Moretonhampstead" into whatever format coordinates the ambulance requires?

Was hoping to do my first wild camp of the year up on Dartmoor tomorrow, but no way I'm going out in that. Looks like I'll be staying at home stuffing my face with hot cross buns instead.

I'd give that a mere 5/10 on the darkness scale

Great work, and really reminds me of the north Norfolk coast where the same thing is happening.
