My mom reacted as any mother would: she bought us tickets to the opera. As I waited nervously in her foyer, all gussied up, she said, “Well! A long-stemmed rose!” Requiescat in pace.

Loved what you said in this interview about humanization. Really ran true after watching a family member do a 180 once they really knew a trans person well IRL Humanization is so key and what is often missing from the trans kids in sports debate (among lots of other trans issues ofc)

Part of the reason I like corporate pride displays is because it is humiliating to the reactionaries. It is good in the same way the Nazi flag flying over the Eiffel Tower was bad. The rainbow flag draped over a bridge is the symbol of our imperium of liberty. The bigot must forever live under it.

I live in Seattle. My former electrolysis lady lives in Tacoma. She swallowed an incredible amount of propaganda about a place just up the road. Note the use of “former”.

I watched part of “Paris Is Burning” in the middle of 12th & Pine. I wish I could have watched the rest.
