My tendons are 45 years old. They're no good to anyone.

Ah, the suburban Midwest, where drainage ponds for parking lots count as landscape

I think the easy solution is to just make the "opener" eligible to be called the winning pitcher when it's a scorers decision.

Honestly, I think it has regained some value in the last 3-4 years, while being very out dated in how it is determined. I also think that quality start is a more valuable stat than it was. A 4.50 ERA isn't great, but now getting through 6 IS an accomplishment.

As a man who ate a Dave's Hot Chicken reaper sandwich last night, I'm especially empathetic to others suffering pain at this time

Yeah we've attempted to move Jung to 3B, and are getting Lee reps there in AAA. Keith was drafted (by Avila) as a 3B I think, moved to 2B, then 1B when we signed Torres.

Oh I agree entirely, just pointing out that it's pretty clear what Scott Harris' organizational philosophy is

I mean between Keith, Sweeney, Lee, McGonigle and Rainer I'm pretty sure Scott Harris' blueprint is "Oops all Middle infielders"
And honestly, throw in Clark and Liranzo, he clearly is an up the middle guy. Which is not a complaint.

Honestly, he's kind of the perfect backup catcher. Tremendous defense, relatively light hitting but occasional pop.

With McGonigle and Rainer in the system I'm less concerned with SS.

I mean I guess we could try him at third instead, but I'm not sure he has the power profile we'd want

The real positive to this, was it gave a healthy skepticism about AI to a 15 and 17 year old, about an easily verifiable, objectively incorrect "fact". Honestly, this was probably more effective than any parental caution I could have given them.

I recently was trying to explain to my kids about the dominant defense of the Detroit Pistons in the early 2000's. This is what my query turned up

We'll take on Bregmans contract once he's healthy, to complete the Rob Deer trade

When we were on our way to Japan last year, we had a delay on our layover in Minneapolis and I had the joy of listening to the MAGA guy at the hotel bar who was on his way to Dallas (I think)
