Kind of a bummer that “root beer” won out over “sarsaparilla”. Sarsaparilla is more descriptive (a drink with its main flavors derived from the sarsaparilla plant) and much more fun to say. Root beer sounds kinda gross when you take the two words at face value.

Striking workers in Washington State will now get unemployment from the state. A bill giving workers out on strike 6 weeks of unemployment insurance was just signed into law after passing both chambers. Workers affected by employer lockouts will also benefit from the new law.

Lot of people crediting the harsher cap rules for more parity in the NBA but I think it really is as simple as role players being better, more efficient players than previous eras. They shoot better, they run more, they defend better. The floor was raised and the ceiling didn’t get higher.
