You know what, Speaker Johnson, I agree. Medicaid cuts DO have a moral component: Seeing how cruel and malicious is it to cut healthcare for the needy in a country like this, with no other safety net to make up for it, requires you to have morals. That's why none of you see it.

Unbelievable! Today, San Diego witnessed a government-sanctioned kidnapping. ICE stormed Buona Forchetta in military gear ripping workers away, then unleashing tear gas and smoke on the terrified community. Full on police state, fascism now used on American citizens. Stay aware. #OnYourSide

You can play the new sci-fi tactical squad-based game Xenopurge, as the team have released a free demo on Steam this week. #indiedev #indiegame

It's a crime, and I don't advocate committing crimes, but I do think it's worth reiterating that, while piracy is, indeed, a crime, it can also be an overtly political act.

Beyond parody.

Lynda Sayce plays a piece of lute music that was recently discovered in an archival document at the Museum Plantin-Moretus. Since the handwritten lute tablature was folded and reused as scrap paper, it's problaby the first time in 400 years that this music is heard.

OK, but hear me out: What if Nostradamus couldn't tell red from blue, and, like, what if he misinterpreted America to be some name for a place in middle east. I mean, a red baseball cap could seem like a blue turban if you factor in the year he lived in, right?

OK, so, look. If the president calling Harvard students, college kids "radicalized lunatics" doesn't put Trump in the "This is the bad guy bucket" for you, I'm ready to declare that's a you problem. Further, maybe talk to your therapist about it. Or, more accurately, maybe try therapy.

gender-affirming care has regret rates significantly below completely uncontroversial interventions like knee replacement surgery no study will ever tell you differently let trans people get the care they need

While Trump continues to cry for white South Africans, bemoaning a bogus white genocide, House Republicans voted for massive Medicaid cuts — voted for poor and middle class Americans to die by the millions

Why do the GOP, hating homeless people as much as they do, work so hard to create more every time they get the chance?

Huge Caves of Qud patch with a load of fixes and improvements. I will miss table-which-changes-colour-when-things-are-placed-on-it though. 🍄 store.steampowered.com/news/app/333...

Me, proudly displaying my last remaining fuck.

Times are tough, but we can remain Defiant.

Awesome 3d platformer camera #gamedev thread:

The US regime deported 8 people to South Sudan without due process, despite a court order to explicitly not do that. But don't worry, they assure us they were all "barbaric" convicted criminals. I guess we'll have top take their word for it since they refused to confirm even WHERE they got sent.

House GOP is holding a hearing on their tax bill at 1:00 AM because they don't want us to know about their scheme to strip 13.7 million people of health coverage & they think no one will stay awake for it. I’ll be there, testifying & offering amendments to protect our families.

Just listened to Elon's interview at the Qatar Economic Forum... and the man has completely lost the plot. Insists that Tesla is doing great, that the only complaints are from radicals who want to kill him, and that he's on the right side of history. www.youtube.com/watch?v=76nZ...

Kristi Noem doesn't even know what Habeas Corpus is. This was revealed to the world in a congressional hearing. Why didn't this lead to an immediate impeachment demand? You can't uphold laws you're ignorant of, so she cannot do her job, demonstrably.

Moodys has downgraded the credit rating of the United States from AAA to AA1. It feels like it wasn't that long ago when moving heaven and earth to make sure that didn't happen was when you saw Republicans do their jobs and try to work together with the rest of the country. Oops. gg Mr. President.

I've been working remotely, off and on for 15 years now; literally half of my career. Long enough to know that there's no actual benefit to working in the office; at best it lets bad management and production practices happen because you make up for it with back-alley conversations and deals.

Trump has a 40% approval rating. 40%. 4 in 10. I mean old commercials taught us that there's always that one out of 10 dentist, or doctor, or whatever, who disagrees no matter how obvious the fact. I just didn't realize that if you stuck them all in one room it'd be 40 fucking percent of us.

No, you’re not crazy. They are deporting brown people and importing white people.

Yes, I'm pissed about the jumbo jet too. But this is actually the most important story today.

Disabled protesters shut down a republican congressional hearing today because said repubs are trying to LITERALLY decimate Medicaid. They want to cut ~$88 *billion* from medicaid every year for 10 yrs for a total which, again— & this is important—*Essentially Equals The Entire Budget of Medicaid*.

Do you remember hearing about ICE agents storming a woman's house in the middle of the night, forcing her and her daughters into the rain in their underwear, only to find out they were looking for someone who didn't even live there any more? That was just the opening act. Now they want her home.

Be prepared to see this a lot.

So, since that's not real, what are you actually doing?

I was talking about this recently: AI is coming for you whether you want it or not because people are already using it secretly. That coming to light isn't going to stop it, either. It's going to normalize it in the long run, until you're out of work or your job is babysitting the psychotic LLM.

This week’s main story is about the Alliance Defending Freedom, the landmark Supreme Court cases they’ve been behind, and how obsessed they are with the word “winsome.” It’s inexplicable. They could just say “appealing” but no. It’s winsome this, winsome that. Absolutely baffling stuff. You’ll see.
