Quick question, what is Mason into these days? Percy wants to get him a gift but didn’t know what he might like.

Awesome! The 27th? We’ll be there! Percy will be thrilled to see Mason again!

Thank you so much for your latest announcement on this. I feel so hopeless and you give me hope.

How does this impact what’s expected for their ruling on Garcia?

I don’t know, I love browsing at CT…it’s like Target for Canadians. I walk in to get a bag of cat litter and walk out with a fishing rod, a shelving unit, a tire gauge, and a spatula.

I appreciate your kind words and consideration of people who need a break, but I want you to know I really appreciate the emotional takes when something awful happens—it validates my emotions, and I think it’s important to face the ugly truth and not hide from it. Emotion and outrage spur action.

Exactly! If you’re willing to help, you’re in.

As a far lefty from the US, some of my favourite resisters are people I never would have thought—“conservatives” who don’t agree with me on a lot of things but believe in the basic foundations of human decency and fighting MAGA.

I’ve argued with MAGA til I’m blue in the face and some people you can’t change (I know all too well, some are my own extended family and it’s broken a lot of things), but some Canadian conservatives may not be quite as far gone. Maple MAGA, yes, but hopefully there are some who would resist.

Understand the sentiment, having come from America and being about as left as you can get, but we will need everyone. Defeat them politically and don’t tolerate intolerance but show them how they can be a part of something bigger if they want. They can stand with us or stand aside.

Also I first learned about this from the Elbows Up podcast @jordanhr.bsky.social’s interview with Peter MacLeod. They inspired me to want to get involved!

This is an amazing list! I’m planning to contact my municipality today, the emergency preparedness public educator, and see what we already have, what gaps may be there, and what I can do to help organize volunteers, maybe a monthly group to learn about/action what you mention above, etc.

This! So many people want to help, we just need the structure and training. I’d love to be a part of something like that and even help stand one up locally if we don’t have it. But you’re right—we need the bigger structure, with a group in every town.

Exactly! I can’t hold a gun or fight a fire, but I have a lot of other skills that might be helpful in a disaster. I’d be very interested in helping stand up the infrastructure to organize community skills of people who want to help so they can be mobilized when needed. I just don’t know how.

He has a cult leader personality and is propped up by powerful people who realize he’s easy to manipulate. The disinformation campaigns in the states are very powerful, and the money supporting them is endless.

Oh sorry, permanent residency. Yeah, 2019 is when we started planning to move to Canada. We had great jobs, settled life, but we also had two young kids and saw the writing on the wall of where the US was heading and decided to move somewhere they’d be safe. Everyone thought we were nuts.

Absolutely not. Tourists have been kidnapped. I’m an American citizen with PR in Canada, lived in Canada in a border town 4 years now and travelled back and forth frequently to visit family. I now refuse to cross the border, even if it means I never see my family again. It’s not safe for anyone.

Pretty sure the Nazi currently occupying the White House is making quite a ruckus.

Thank you for sharing! I’m disabled and could never pass basic training, but I’m wanting to take first aid and find out more about what I can do in my community to be of service in case of an emergency. Good to have the link, though, and I’ll share with friends who might be interested.

Prime Minister Carney, I would love to know if the federal government would support communities in building up civil defence corps to strengthen our community resilience in the face of the challenges ahead. I know many people who would love to be involved but just don’t know how.

(Well, integrity with national security stuff and protecting classified information—apparently he has some pretty abhorrent views in other areas)

I have this fun, completely unserious theory that he added Goldberg on purpose because he was concerned about how this way of handling things was dangerous to the country and was willing to be the fall guy. He knew Goldberg had integrity and would take the classified stuff seriously.

Follow up question should be “Well what do you know? Who is actually running this country?”

Definitely Mike Waltz too, since he’s the one who added him. The all should be fired and criminally investigated for gross negligence for using signal in the first place, but Mike gets an extra charge for sharing with someone without clearance.

Shouldn’t Goldberg have at least been invited to the dinner? 🙏💪🇺🇸
