Also, the "debate" around this is deliberately framed in terms of "rights". Specifically, which group has which rights. The implication being, there are limited rights and some groups are more deserving of them than others. This is false. Because human rights apply to everyone, equally.

As I was saying

Anytime a headline makes the gender critical side look like cartoon villains, they piss and shit themselves crying to the editor and get the entire thing rewritten to completely change the article. Exhibit A: same article. They even deleted the posts.

Hopefully this (welcome) commitment to international law means that, if and when a Court finds UK law on trans people inconsistent with our ECHR obligations, Labour restores the law to what it was before the Supreme Court disgracefully rewrote it.

If you're one of those trans inclusive small businesses which is getting attacked by transphobes, we've drafted this text for your website, or as a standard reply.

A cis man tries to mansplain gender dysphoria to a trans woman. Incredible scenes!

Open letter to the WEC regarding the EHRC

Letter writing template for your MP and the Women's and Equalities committee

So the new generation of trans activists are … a bit more militant than my generation was. The EHRC are basically provoking a generation of trans people who are already on the cusp of having nothing left to lose. This seems unwise to me, but I’m a middle age wine* aunt. What do I know? *teetotal

🧵 As @iododds.bsky.social has already pointed out, the EHRC and the "supreme" court seem to want to create a historical/legal fiction that, in 2009 and 2010, parliament was proposing that The Equality Act (2010) was in fact a national toilet ban for trans people. As someone who was involved... 1/5

"Black/Gay/Disabled people must accept a reduction in their rights. They were lied to and will have to give way. It just can't be helped I'm afraid" If you have a problem with that sentence then you should also have a problem when it's trans people.

no, nobody has to accept a reduction in their human rights. they do not. do y’all hear yourselves

Trans people “will have to give way”, will we? Fuck. Off. We shall not. Go. Fuck. Yourselves.

Trans people's rights cannot depend on possession of a GRC because many of them were established in case law by eg industrial tribunals and in legislation prior to the passing of the GRA in 2004.

“Trans people aren’t losing rights, you never had any to begin with” Like hell we will accept this

Anti-trans activist EHRC commissioner Akua Reindorf has told Trans+ people that they need to accept fewer human rights than cisgender people have Meanwhile over 24,000 cis women are saying, no, Not In Our Name Join them here: www.change.org/p/not-in-our... #NION

No trans person, or any other person for that matter, is just going to "accept a reduction in their rights" Absolutely get fucked you rancid cis supremacist

Croft v Royal Mail 2003 established in law, that has not and cannot be superseded by the Supreme Court ruling, before the GRA existed, that trans people have the right to use gendered facilities once they reach an appropriate point in their transition. Reindorf and co deliberately ignore that.

You're not really losing your rights. You just think you had rights.

Akua Reinsdorf claims that trans people have been lied to about the extent of our rights. Her interpretation of law was dismissed in 2020 by Mr Justice Henshaw when Anne Sinnott tried to sue the EHRC over its support of those rights. Reinsdorf was later appointed as an EHRC Commissioner.

I thought I was being somewhat caricature-ish in the courtroom setup of my 'Sanity of Sex Change' essay, but apparently it pales in comparison to the actual things a British official would say

"Fundamentally, 100 per cent, 22-carat wrong...maybe mortally stupid." Former leader Neil Kinnock opens up on Labour's attempt to fight Farage on his own ground www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/politics/lab...

ANYONE who thinks ANY group should accept fewer human rights than everyone else is totally unfit to serve as an EHRC commissioner.

The fact that trans people are a tiny minority asking for mostly incredibly cheap and unobtrusive accommodations must be utterly obfuscated in the UK. There's well placed people in our media and political class whose self image as liberal and tolerant cannot survive acknowledging this basic reality.

PHAHAHAA They printed the quiet part out loud and she started backpedaling like roadrunner

I cannot get past a HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSIONER saying “people must accept a reduction in their rights”. What the actual fuck is happening?!

In finally admitting that they're trying to take away our rights, they're also admitting that we have exercised these rights for years -decades- and there hasn't ever, ever been an issue with it

Akua Reindorf is profoundly ignorant about the history gender activism.I spoke to her face to face about it. During our conversation, she professed to, for example, never have heard of Sandy Stone, and thought that "trans activism" was a phenomenon only of the last decade. She's an ideological hack.

Yknow when they position trans rights as in conflict with other rights it really is just that it is seen as an indignity to have to exist in society with us and therefore a rights infringement. Its our right to exist they see in conflict with their right to not have to be around a tranny

"The rights you had were just lies, what we're working towards by actively reducing your rights is the truth" is some of the most nakedly fascist propagandist language you could use. "We've always been at war with eurasia"

Akua reindorf an "impartial" commissioner of the EHRC. One who buys merch from anti trans groups. And accepts money to talk to anti trans staff groups... whatthetrans.com/anti-trans-e...

So, the commissioner of the Equality and Human Rights Commission doesn’t understand equality or human rights. Got it.

I would simply love for the Labour government to do literally anything else with its time than wage a committed & unrelenting assault against a vulnerable minority who make up less than 1% of the population.

I think signing a letter against GRA Reform 10 years ago is a red flag but not necessarily damning on its own, but donating to Allison Bailey's insane conspiracy nonsense about Stonewall is so bad
