Mehhh. It's not so bad. You can block the brands if you wish. But honestly I dont block blue chip companies. They're easier to ignore since they're so prevalent. A pepsi ad is more forgettable than some niche brand spam. I do agree with the other points made.

Open source social media doesn't really mean anything if you don't have the data storage to warehouse videos & gifs. The internet evolves. Unfortunately only big companies can compete in this domain. Would I like open source protocols to succeed, of course. Do they have the means? Probably not.

Cause of ChatGPT. Reddit & Twitter are bitter that ChatGPT was built off their info. There's really no way to see if Apollo is using reddit info for the same purposes. They can also discreetly sell that info to a.i. companies. Sure Reddit can sue _IF_ they find out. Paranoia is on defcon 1.

there's a bug in my feeds darkmode on the desktop. the bottom half of the page becomes white and you can't scroll down. The only fix is to enable lightmode.
