Pinocchio curse which I would launch on all politicians. Every time they lie ... you get the drift. Could have a lot of fun deciding which bits grow 😆 #HorrorWritersChat

Frankenstein. The realisation of how he is viewed by his creator and others triggers both grief and anger. I often think of the scene with him and the blind man and what happens when the man's family comes upon him. #HorrorWritersChat

I find that writing about fears is different to real life and I can keep myself separate, provided it is a character suffering. The greatest fear is losing one of my children, even though they're adults. I could not write about that if the character was 'me'. #HorrorWriterschat

Hello! I'm Stephanie Ellis, writer of folk horror, gothic, post-apocalyptic/sci-fi, and poetry. Not a monster per se, but I'd say the actual Wicker Man, the hot flushes that continue at 61 are enough to keep me burning 😆. #HorrorWritersChat

May 27 is the feast day of St. Melangell, the patron saint of hares who founded a safe haven for women in Wales. According to legend, she was an Irish princess who fled an arranged marriage and became a hermit in the wilderness of Powys. #Melangell #Folklore #WelshSaint #MHHSBD #Hare

The “clever child” is everywhere in folklore. A girl who solves riddles. A boy who tricks the devil. They’re not powerful. They’re sharp, observant, underestimated. Fairy tales remind us: cleverness feeds the hungry and outwits monsters. #FairyTaleTuesday #FairyTaleFlash 🎨John Bauer
