My passions are tennis and music. Give me those or give me death. Or Elon Musk's head fresh from the guillotine.

Listen Tara Wuerth is battling herself as well as her opponent out there.

Gotta hand it to our new tennis Pope, answering prayers already.

Thank you for this episode. I found it extremely cathartic.

Do you think what happened with Ten Hag would provide a recent example strong enough to counter that positivity with realism? That decision from United is now seen universally as a big mistake.
comment in response to post
I don’t know if United are the unstoppable force or the immovable object but neither sound quite right.

That’s the Conclave 2 plot sorted.

Jesus has been upstaged this Easter. Even he couldn’t make a comeback like that!

I dunno. If I asked for more holidays and my employer said I can work every second day for two weeks instead, I’m not sure I’d be happy with that. It’s not time off.

I’m no expert by the way, I’m just some guy who read a book and I’ve just hastily summarised some of its broad points. I would love to hear the professor’s more educated take on this.

So while education is definitely important, I think it needs to be coupled with better regulation of big corporate food companies who only produce to make a profit. It’s capitalism baby!

I would be telling the Taoiseach to push for the same, as studies have shown that people will choose to buy healthy food for themselves and their children. The problem is shit food is being advertised to them as healthy, and again, this shit food is designed to be addictive and over consumed.

After Brazil’s diet was harmed by Nestle literally sailing boat, a floating supermarket to the country (no kidding, look it up) a lot of South American countries have passed laws requiring packaging containing harmful ingredients to be marked with big ugly black labels.

UPF is designed to be addictive and to be over consumed, and it is unregulated when it comes to advertising, ie companies are allowed to claim all sorts of health benefits on the packaging, and not required to put warning labels despite plenty of proof showing its processing is linked to disease.

Have you read the book Ultra Processed People by Chris Van Tulleken? It’s about the growth of ultra processed foods in our diets and how they are linked to diseases, such as cancer and dementia.

Medvedev may be slipping down the tennis rankings but he is still at the very top when it comes to being an interviewee. Always so interesting and gives great insight. Thank you for this!

You see, the sofa still has a function and The Simpsons used to be great. Easier to forgive those sins.

This is what worries me. He frames things as absolutes, the decisions he has made needed to be made, but there’s one simple suggestion that could have saved a lot of grief and it seems to throw him. Whatever bubble he’s in doesn’t seem all that connected to reality.

I had a conversation with a 70 year old woman about this. “Why can’t I say it? We always used to say it and it was fine!” “Times change and it isn’t acceptable!” “But what about that rhyme? Eenie, meenie, mynie, mo, catch a…” “Children say ‘tiger’ now…” “Oh, so it’s okay to call them tigers??”

Yknow, going on Bluesky for the first time today and finding someone has used Garth Marenghi to make fun of Nazi-boy Musk’s continuing failure has shown me that there are still chinks of light to be found in this dark world.

Oh yeah. Incredible women!
comment in response to post
Yes, definitely! It allowed us the space to realise that the contest meant a lot to these women at the time, and that our bafflement and anger should not be towards the show but toward the society that made it worth something.

Did you see the “Housewife of the Year” documentary? It encapsulated a lot I thought.

These people care about protecting women in sport so much, they will even persecute women in sport to do it!

This kills me. “He said that the Government would conduct a fundamental review of housing policy”. This has been an issue destroying the lives of many in this country for years and the lads who have been in government for years are saying “Yeah, we will have a look”. Absolutely scandalous!

Always thought that surely Daphne also thought no-one was chasing her. One of my favourite episodes though.

Welcome Ciara. You’re going to have a wonderful time. David Hyde Pierce is marriage material.

Aw well thats okay, if it was a genuine mistake, like if it was a lie to get votes, but if it was a mistake genuinely, then that’s okay.

Thank you for this tribute to one of my favourite players of the last decade and a half. That Roland Garros 2014 final against Sharapova was a brilliant watch. Her breakout moment! I will remember her fondly.

That is what Alcaraz has over Sinner though, his ability to go long. And yeah, the ban is huge.
comment in response to post
He’s certainly scarier than Alcaraz on hardcourts. Alcaraz looks better on the natural surfaces. Watching the two of them bridge that gap to face each other is what I’m most fascinated by, WADA verdict depending.

Were the casting agency just a bunch of lads who spent the summer watching Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad and heard the kid from Home Alone had a brother? “He was really good in Severence, I heard”.

Maybe you should just stop watching football for a living. No wonder you think things are shit or boring most of the time. Merry Christmas though!
