What is the general temperature of the soil? If it is around 50 degrees or gets cooler it may just take longer. It maybe that you just got a bad batch of seeds that went bad for some reason. I don’t think you have to anything special with corn seeds like presoak.

From the article: “Data from the state Office of Children’s Mental Health shows the number of young people who have felt depressed has increased 42 percent over the last decade.”
Just a cruel time to rescind this funding.

Great time to cut funding.

As a report by NPR notes, a key part of the CDL truck driver shortage is retention [and low pay]. There is a retention issue in the industry at large, with an average annual turnover rate for long-haul truckers above 90% at many big trucking companies.

Don’t we have a shortage of truck drivers already? What advantage do we gain by making them pass an English test as long as they pass the driving test they should be good.

Did he fax it over to the White House?

Well maybe both points are simple on their face and complicated in the details and consequences.

With rail specifically in the United States it is simple & complicated. The simple part: we don’t have political will to make this happen or in the modernization of Amtrak or supporting growth of competition. The complicated part is the rail system in the US is owned by private freight companies.

How do you deport an American citizen from America??

Farmers I know have said that they voted Republican all these years because Carter ruined it for farmers with the inflation policy (which you could make a strong argument that it was really the result of Nixon policies, but I digress). My point is, Republicans may lose the farmer vote for decades.

Barcelona has a similar track green cover. It seemed like such a great idea when I first saw it. So glad they are doing it in other places too. I wonder how many systems use green cover over the tracks? And what findings on impacts to maintenance.

It good to know I’m not the only one. Sometimes have to take a walk before I can respond to some people’s emails. Some walks are longer than others. I wonder if people know how they are coming across and what value do they think they are getting.

Thank you for highlighting these crimes against our children by those who are supposed to be trust worthy.

Agreed, also think many had been convinced that the Democrats were so much worse (maybe even evil). Making it easier to buy the story about DT they told themselves.

It feels like the argument one sometimes hears about seatbelts and bike helmets. “I never used them as a kid, and I survived just fine.” Which completely ignores the fact that many more kids were hurt.

I grew up in a small town in the Midwest and our local restaurant would do something similar. You know sometimes the owner has other things to do and other places to be. I don’t know how well that would play today in the US, probably not well.

I can see where that may be true for some stories where the author’s goal is to provide the space for that. However, for this story the author has a specific and clear world and story to share, and I am loving it 100%.

Agreed. I loved this episode and it was beautifully done. Ms.Cobel is such an interesting character who is actively participating but seems to be going through a revolution in her beliefs. Not only was this episode well done I think it is critical to understanding the story.

This report seems to have been removed from the federal highway administration (FHWA)’s website. Unless the art is truly making traffic control devices hard to see, it use to be encouraged.

What can be done? They are probably just going to fire everyone “for cause” get caught up in the courts and in reality in the meantime it all falls apart.

I heard another theory that came from a Trump supporter. Canada is in league with China to buy up American utilities companies and control our power grid.

Exactly. This is full of distractions and nonsense. I couldn’t watch any more. I think he wants people to waste their time rebuffing every stupid lie. It’s all a scam and they find it funny.

I tried watching. It hurt my soul to see the laughter about Trump & Musk efforts that are based on falsehoods and are designed to hurt people. They were chuckling, how can they find joy in this. I had to turn it off.

My 13 year daughter said to me yesterday “I always wondered what it would be like to live in those times, like the Civil War, the Revolution , the Great Depression. Now I am afraid I might find out”

My mom was a wonderful stay at home mom. I remember spending most of my days running around the neighborhood and being home for dinner. Maybe stopping in for lunch at my house or another. I am a working mom and this data matches my experience.

I think it is good you point this out. It is hard to know what to do when you encounter something you are so unprepared for. We have to prep ourselves for how we will respond in these situations before we find ourselves actually in them.

My sister uses a wheelchair to get around, lives in her own, and can’t drive. She lives in a small community in a rural county and tele-health is critical to her maintaining good health.
