Whoa, @virginiaeeubanks.bsky.social is here! That’s an automatic follow (and should be for you as well)

If your 1st response to protest is to preach non-violence, and it is louder than your dissent to innocent people detained w/o due process, when children are imprisoned, or peaceful, unarmed protesters are attacked, you’re not advocating peace or justice. You’re enforcing order.

This was a crazy story but I’m seeing some wrong info. According to a Chilean interview she did she’s living here legally with her husband here for work. And this wasn’t an ICE arrest— the NYPD wrongfully thought she was part of a group they were pursuing bc they ran her over. And the teen is 12.

Instant fucking classic. Wow wow wow 🤯 I’m by no means a tennis expert, but that’s got to be up there with Borg-McEnroe, Nadal-Federer ‘08 Wimbeldon, etc. (on the men’s side). Just all heart, great tennis, elite-level drama. What more can you want???

There’s a phrase for this… “child trafficking,” maybe?

Grimly funny how the secret police raid our neighborhoods, get screamed at to fuck off by everyone in those neighborhoods, then go on their official X accounts to do 👉🥺👈 therapy posts

🚨 Don’t look now folks, but we’ve got an all-timer on our hands!!! Somehow Alcaraz survived 3 championship point opportunities and pushed this to a 5th set. Break out the 🍿

Uh oh, that break of serve might be the end of the line for Alcaraz…

Stepping aside from political and current events posting: I love my brother’s take on Star Trek, and TNG specifically. He’s consistently said this for years (and I agree): there’s a different degree of difficulty imagining a utopian sci-fi future and what that entails for humanity

Seeing a massive divide online between Angelenos of all political stripes who understand that the protests in LA yesterday were mostly peaceful and any violence was ICE-initiated and East Coast establishment liberals lecturing “the left” on how riots just amplify right wing talking points.

“The president hasn’t invoked the Insurrection Act. He’s instead relying on a theory of inherent constitutional power that is far more limited..” For Lawfare, Chris Mirasola explains the purported legal basis for Trump’s deployment of the National Guard in LA: www.lawfaremedia.org/article/the-...

I have nothing but contempt for dem elected and commentators using this moment to primarily finger wag at protesters or to tell them not to make Trump mad

Without these credits Tesla is unprofitable today. They would have been $200 million in the red for Q1. With sales falling ~20%, even these credits can't keep Tesla in business. All those billions in subsidies were for nothing.

The National Guard has arrived in Los Angeles, but they were not requested by California. Both Governor Newsom and Mayor Bass made it clear that the state did not authorize or want federal troops deployed.

Do not fedpost. And do not post photos/videos of comrades where their faces and other identifying features (tattoos, scars, etc.) are visible

Apropos of some of these videos from CA, I was just reminded of the (I assume) Canadian dude who kept shooting tear gas canisters back at the QPP with a hockey stick during the clash at Plains of Abraham at FTAA 2001. In my memory, it was very badass. Solidarity with LA et al. ✊

Fuck yeah Coco Gauff 👏

“Brunch is so fucking real.”

Do not stop.

StL Mayor Cara Spencer said she was “overwhelmingly frustrated” with the lack of movement from FEMA, where the state’s disaster request hasn’t been sent to the White House, despite a pledge to Sen. Hawley from Secretary Noem on May 20 to expedite the request. spectrumlocalnews.com/mo/st-louis/...

Two weeks ago, Ben Schrader - the highly respected chief of the criminal division for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Nashville - announced he had resigned. According to LinkedIn data, that was May 21 - the same day as Abrego Garcia's indictment. 1/2

1 year ago today, Trump appeared at David Sacks’ and Chamath Palihapitiya’s fundraiser in San Francisco. After that, the Winkelvii donated $1 million each in Bitcoin to Trump, and Trump went on the All-In podcast. People in the know: was this the turning point re: Trump and SV?

They’re just gonna run the clock out on this thing, aren’t they? I’m kinda surprised; my money was always on it going to Larry Ellison
