I'm so enjoying intelligent, thoughtful discussions about major issues, from a variety of experts, without a 'gotcha' in sight. Thank you.

The #abc only listened to, and took action on, a few select voices, the Zionists, and not the thousands who have complained about the axing of the excellent #thedrum, the right wing bias and poor quality of #insiders, #qanda. Our complaints have fallen on deaf ears, clearly we are not influential.

Terribly disappointing our govt supports this huge act of aggression on a sovereign state, when there is no credible evidence of nuclear threat, and the framework for peace was abandoned. Bombing another country is not acceptable!!

Surely lifting the rate of Centrelink payments, lifting people out of poverty, is good for our economy? Spent mostly on essentials, with better health outcomes, easier to apply for jobs or commit to study, reduce the constant stress of struggling to survive, be more productive, happier people.

Yes there is too much that is distressing going on in the world, but it is in my every day interactions, of kindness and care, of meeting others in our hearts, and basic humanity, sharing a smile or a laugh that give me hope. It is in being in my garden, the simple pleasures.

Given the US gets paid billions with no guarantees of delivery I wouldn't be surprised if they think it's a good deal for them.

Albo ignores and insults all the previous Labor voters who want more progressive policies, especially for the environment, who are now voting Greens or independents.

Trees on their own to not make a forest.

All this while NSW goes through devastating record floods, again! What will be the cost to recover from them? And the last one? How many billions? And who is paying? The taxpayer? What a strait jacket to be lumped with.

Yet when Labor lost the franking credits, negative gearing election, they dropped them like hot potatoes, and haven't gone near them since. I wish they would have the courage to bring the policies out again.

Not a lot of people know of what is being proposed with nuclear waste, but word is spreading and the protests have started. We've only just begun. Come on Sydney!
comment in response to post
No No No nuclear waste facility or US shipyard in the backyard of many in WA. They are already facing local opposition and this will only grow to a roar.

I find that listening reveals far more than trying to see elusive birds. Just being outside in my suburban home and it can be really loud sometimes with a murder of crows, a gathering of galahs and cockatoos, the local magpie family, the willy wag tails, and then all the honeyeaters....and on we go!

Make the polluters pay for a transition, mitigation and adaptation, rebuilding not taxpayers!

I've explored alternatives to what the limited medical world offers for many years for my joint condition that have helped reduce pain. Feldenkrais, remedial massage, swimming, hydrotherapy, CBD, gentle chiro, alkaline diet help me make the best of what I've got. Medicine is limited

Yes make the polluters pay from their obscene profits for climate resilience and remediation, not taxpayers

The bigger news is depressing and ugly, but in my every day life I have many encounters that have kindness and goodwill. I put my focus and appreciation on them and it helps to have a heartful break from the terribleness. Hopefully most of us have similar interactions each day.

Cost of insurance is another reason we need to make the polluters pay. Climate change is already expensive and will only get much worse. The burden shouldn't be on taxpayers but those companies making enormous profits.

There are so many acts of kindness happening everyday. A friend's car broke down and everyone was so kind and generous, no drama. The larger picture and certain leaders make it appear that we're all going to shit but in every day life there are many smiles, helpfulness, cheer and laughter.

I so appreciate intelligent informed discussions, it's a breath of fresh air in the fetid media landscape. Shades of the much missed The Drum. Thank you.

After their first landslide on saving the Beeliar Wetlands, Labor has been a huge disappointment on the environment - rare iconic Black Cockatoos and penguins becoming rarer, more clearing of habitat and forest, approving carbon bombs from large mining friends. Fremantle is not happy.

Yes acceptance is the path to inner peace.

Seems to me that the derogatory words, personal attacks spoken by prominent leaders are setting a tone for everyone who harbour these views to also speak the same kinds of language.

I'm amazed after decades of only use of speculums from the patriarchal medical system which are uncomfortable for many, the huge leap to a small sponge on a stick works really well with no discomfort. A breakthrough for women's health!

Opportunities for new authors diminish with a concentrated market. No wonder self publishing is becoming more popular.

As a young environmental scientist in the 80s, when I learnt about possible future bad outcomes I had faith that humanity would see what needs to be done and make changes. Now with the power of disinformation I'm not so sure. But everyday I encounter kindness and care, I see beauty, I see positive.

Ha yes totally missed the sarcasm!

No we often don't put out bushfires in minutes in Aus. The recent Grampians fire is a case in point, with many many more examples. Wildfires with strong winds are impossible for any force to control, until winds ease. Climate change is making fires more intense, more difficult to control.

I love it, fully nasal squawking version of an Australian accent, yes rather like a Galah. Brings Gunnawah to life.
comment in response to post
I'm really enjoying Gunnawah, congratulations! Just so a nagging little voice in my head is silenced, is it Gun or Goon pronunciation? Thank you!

I reluctantly embraced the author profile on social media, and I have built a great following on my Little Body Huge Life fb page, a lot of them are community and friends, but they know many more people, it worked for my GoFundMe. Most are of an age they only use fb and it's my best way to connect.

At my local beach, South Beach Fremantle. My fave place on a very hot day, it was glorious in the water.

Obscene misogynistic content that disrespects women perpetuates abuse and violence. Well done to MadFWitches #mfw for creating the exodus of advertisers.

The same in WA, one major media company owning the one statewide newspaper. We are poorly served for local news, let alone analysis of news.
